When does this get good? I'm on the third episode of the first season and currently it just feels like a poor imitation of the UK version that's a lot less funny and a lot less subtle.

First season is bad, it improves a lot

Never, it's one of the worst shows ever made.

So the first season is a slog and then it improves in the second?

This show gets Scranton and NEPA so wrong that it is just ridiculous. Every yokel around there loves it though

yes. it becomes less like the UK version and leans more into an American sitcom style, which works well for it

I liked it from the very first episode but I hadn't watched the British version yet.

You might skip to season 2 just because that's when the episodes stop being adaptations of uk episodes. 4hvrt

I'm on the last episode of the 1st season now so no skipping now. The laughs have been really sparse though.

S2 is peak, during season 3 it takes a big dive downhill already. Steve Carrell pretty much carries the show. You seem like you really dislike S1 though so you might not enjoy any of it. The main change to season 2 is Michael gaining some positive traits and likeability and the show becomes less dry
