Hamm being replaced in essence by Demi Moore who is giving this inhuman, eyes glazed over, lost in space performance broke the camels back for me. Billy Bob isn't enough to carry this show. I'd rather just finish watching Goliath since it's the same character more or less. Sheridan has his highs and lows and when the low happens to be how he wrote a female character it's hell to watch.
Nobody in Hollywood understands the mass market Gen X demographic like Taylor Sheridan does. Every show he makes is a hit with this audience. Go to a youtube clip for a scene from any of his shows since he did Yellowstone and you'll see people that are fanatical in how much they love this trite slop, proclaiming it to be the best show they've ever seen.

The first season had a lot of bullshit (whore wife, whore daughter, whore widow, cunt lawyer) but balanced that with action, suspense, intrigue, and manly tears. In S2, they got rid of all the pros and kept only the cons. They don't even include any interesting background info about the oil industry anymore.The last ep was 1 hour and I think I skipped all but 15 minutes. The only decent part was manly tears with Sam Elliott at the end. But hey, at least cunt lawyer gor a promotion to whore cunt lawyer!

>>216507076I'll use this thread to rantThe big flaw with this episode is that they are trying to do the "faceless funeral" trope where someone whom you have no idea is gets a funeral and everyone says some words and it tries to build a character for them BUT they just can't seem to get me to feel any connection to the mother they’re memorializing. All I know from her is she beats her son and Sam Elliott is a giant wimp. This episode took a freaking hour. Most of the time the characters just said "well I hated her, she was mean, I dunno what to say dude". How this actually works: everyone is supposed to have a story and that paints a picture of both good and bad sides of a person. This story mechanism doesn't work if nobody has anything interesting to say! Sam Elliott says his rainbow story but the Landman cuts it down "oh he said that again". Why won't you let me feel things? The Son and Girlfriend is just a ridiculous and annoying storyline, the way she acts on him is so disrespectful, I guess she doesn't want to "feel bought and paid for" I get that but still how she says "you do what I say when I say and I will spend your money" made me realize that the son is exactly like the father just younger. It would really help if the son actually took pride in his appearance, he is wealthy, should have a nice truck, nice clothes and jewelry. Wear youthful clothes and a youthful style. He acts like a meek little kid who doesn't know what adults do on sleepovers. This is basically turning into a rant about the show overall. The episode was so slow and boring it made me see that, I actually don't like any of these characters that much. I miss the tough Landman who outfoxes cartels and makes deals. Not this whiny jerkbag Landman who gets angry at everyone and feels like he is angry at God that he is even alive, even if he is a rich, successful man who has a smokeshow wife. I might be out of this show soon not sure like I was with Tulsa King.
