If it was a modern-day action movie and original and didn't have such an awkward name, it'd be a success. Period set action movies don't work and the target audience for action don't care for them since they won't have the latest weaponry and cars.

Cavill as a 1960s CIA agent was a slam dunk (and the role will probably be remembered as the closest we've ever gotten to Cavil as an unofficial James Bond) and Arnie Hammer was one of the few who could match his looks and performance.
