>>216519467The reason why anime characters don´t "look" japanese is precisely because they are meant to be japense.Let me explain: Japanese people have very homogeneous looks, but when you are creating characters it is in your best interest to make them look as distinct as you can, which is why the compensate by given everyone unnatural hair colors. And anime faces are not realistic to begin with, they only look "white" to you because that´s your standard, if you ask a japanese person, they will tell you those characters look japanese to them.That been said, there are some anime/manga that do have art direction that tries to protray a more realistic style and has characters more easly recognizeable as japanese, for example:Amagami SS.Sonny Boy.Shizo Oshimi´s works.Paranoia Agent.Death Note.BokuYabaAfter The RainMy Dress Up Darling (all the girls with bright hair colors are dyed)
