was it really that bad?
>>
It's fair. Not terrible. Not great
>>
it was still somewhat ok, some scenes were legit good, but it felt lacking on many levels compared to the first otherwise.
>>
Its honestly more batshit insane but its honestly a damn good sequel like Predator 2
>>
>>216521433
They had to tone down the violence to sell more toys.
>>
>>216521433
RoboCop 2 suffers from the problem that RoboCop 1 is one of the greatest movies ever made. 2 had no chance of ever coming close to 1's greatness but for what it is it's still a decent movie.
>>
>>216521433
It's not that bad if you forgive the fact it's a carbon copy of the first one to the point of undoing the ending of that movie where Robocop rediscovers his humanity
>>
>>216521433
Absolutely. Especially when compared to the original.
>>
>>216521433
It's fine, disjointed, messy and unfocused but fine. I like lots of individual part of the movie but they don't gel at all, the pacings very stop-start. Still I respect any movie that just kills a kid.
It's also got that predator 2 issue of following up such a great movie that fine feels like shit in comparison. The obvious answer is to just not to watch it after the other but honestly the only reason I'd watch 2 is because I want more after watching one.

2 isn't that bad at all. You might be thinking of 3.
Some anons might even tell you there is no Robocop 3, and I understand it and am willing to indulge that delusion.
>>
>>216521433
2 is good, but the first movie was such a masterpiece that it pales in comparison.
3 was bad. Really fucking bad.

What sucks is the real Robocop 2 Corporate Wars written by Robocop’s creator was going to be a complete departure from the first movie. Robocop gets blown up in the first five minutes and put back together again in the far off future. Was going to be very Blade Runner like and Verhoeven was interest. Orion rejected it because they just wanted to rehash the first movie which Verhoeven was not interested in doing

There's a good movie in there but it's buried under executive meddling and a mediocre script. If you want a good RoboCop sequel check out Frank Miller's RoboCop comics or Prime Directives.

The movie is completely wack but in a good way. Feels like an alternate reality version of the first one.

The go-motion is really impressive in this film

I hate the iridescent blue suit. Feels emblamatic for the movie since all that darkness and grit has been washed away. All kid death, floating brains and nazi imagery can't compare a well shot Detroit

Nice one, anon, I almost thought you were serious.

I am. I'm the resident Prime Directives defender.

Something about this movie makes me think of a sleazy low budget OVA from the late 80s.

The Kid Goes Wild walked so You Could Be Mine could run.

They where apperatetly going to cannibalize that script for a planned robocop returns reboot with peter welker but it's been scrapped. It was being made by Neill Blomkamp but he quit and the last news on it was the second director, Abe Forsythe, saying an element of the script garenteed it would never see the light of day, what ever that means. Probably something close covid shit.
Instead were getting a robocop amazon original series, can't wait for robo cop to be a black guy wrongfully kill by cops complete with slavery allegorys... and fent generators
>>
everything that's good in it is just a watered down version of whats great in the first. It still works alright because its good stuff. The stop motion at the end is the one thing thats actually improved. watching robocop 3 made me appreciate 2 more though. That was a sad and pathetic nightmare.
>>
>>216521433
It was my go to rental at Hollywood Video. It wasn’t bad and it was pretty wacky at times. I personally loved it because I wanted more Robocop. Plus the stop motion effects were insanely good.
>>
>>216523172
3 is just bad. The ninja bots and the jet pack were retarded.
>>
>>216521433
it has that coldness, that soullessness, that plagued Kurshner directed movies, same as The Empire Strikes Back
>>
>>216521433
I thought it was ok. Nowhere near as good as the first one but I still had a good time. It was funny watching the kid who voiced the dinosaur in Land Before Time being a gangster.
>>
>>216521433
No.
A couple of years ago it had an IMDB score of 4/10.
I'm glad people have wisened up a little.
>>
>>216521433
It immediately feels like fan fiction and Robocop 2's design looks like a pile of junk.
