I once won a service award at work where I got to pick anything I wanted up to a certain value so I asked for a copy of Jodorowsky’s El Topo, which had just been re-released on DVD at the time.
Dropped some windowpane with the GF and we watched it together. Strange experience.

It was aite. I appreciated the film's balance of comedy and drama (and no niggers or gay shit), and there were echoes of Bergman in the film's more poignant moments, but the screenplay, especially for the English segments, was clumsy and the titular sentimentality of the movie didn't feel earned. The lead also got mogged hard by her sister, which might have been part of some point the movie was making that was lost on me.

Yeah I got the rugrats movie on VHS for one birthday from my uncle, who also took me to see Star Wars episode I in theatre, which was my first time going to the movies. One of my favorite birthday memories.
