Surprisingly it never felt like it dragged. I enjoyed Vol 2 a lot more this time around knowing what to expect too
>>
>those shitty fight scenes with a 40 year granny
this doesnt hold up at all. why was I impressed with this as a kid
>>
why did this get memoryholed?

>>216523002

Because Tarantino decided to distract focus from his own film's re-release by dumping social media diarrhea all over Paul Dano, which became the dominant meme.
>>
>>216523086
Because the younger you understood the context (trained by masters) and enjoyed the leap of faith required to appreciate a martial arts movie with a women?

>no torrent
wake me when its uploaded

thats a lot of words to just say "kids are dumb"

Its more that they are more imaginative. Its a shame you lost yours, anon.

4.5 hours means not many people are willing to commit the time to it, plus theaters don't offer many showings. I went to a 70mm showing in the middle of a weekday and there were actually quite a few people there. Also keep in mind that if your frame of reference is largely /tv, a lot of users are not in the US and/or are poor and/or are hikkineets who only watch what they can stream or pirate.
>>
the extra animation in the middle of o-rens backstory was unnecessary
>>
>>216524528
I don't know, I thought it worked well. It had bothered me ever since I first saw Kill Bill how they placed so much emphasis on the assassin guy/Pretty Riki but never showed what happened to him, since he was even more brutal than the Takuza boss himself
>>
>>216523002
I had never seen it before. I wish I hadn't taken an edible before it. I liked it but I was having trouble focusing. I didn't really understand what "tone" Tarantino was going for with this. The only other movie I've seen of his was Inglorious Basterds and I was drunk. Yes, I'm retarded but I liked that movie too even though I can't remember all the details. I was just having trouble understanding what exactly he was going for in Kill Bill not being familiar with kung fu movies or Tarantino. I liked the early 2000s color palette and feel of the whole movie. The swordfight scene at the end of the first movie was awesome.
For oldfags who saw these on first release, were you disappointed by the decreased amount of action and more sentimental tone of the second movie? Or was it a satisfying conclusion for you? Some zoomer faggot walked out of the film at the end saying "trash movie."

They lost me by putting in an intermission
>>
>>216524867
Gives you time to pace around and sperg
>>
>>216525545
They’re still breaking the flow at the halfway point, somewhat defeating the purpose of selling it as the two parts being combined.
>>
>>216524867
>>216525545
>>216525722
It's 4 hours. The intermission is a courtesy to let you piss and shit and vape more weed and get another 10 pounds of popcorn, coconut oil, and flavacol.
>>
>>216525722
>They’re still breaking the flow at the halfway point
Intermissions are high-class, dimwit. Figures a Tarantino fan wouldn't know that.

Hi, Jan.
>>
>>216526924
Kyle's mom hated kill bill for other reasons. he can have literal isis clips playing throughout i dont care, it doesnt make the story good. his best film is django which was inspired by .... django
>>
>>216526889
It's amazing how split Kill Bill is, people either love it or hate it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of in-between.
>>
>>216526992
surprisingly, both sides are reddit
>>
>>216526989
>his best film is django
Lmao
>>
>>216523002
i could have sworn they already rereleased this as one long film years ago
>>
>>216527010
What does that mean to you?
>>
It was really fun seeing it on a big screen with my dad but the theater had the speakers just a bit too loud and my ears hurt by the end
I want a Daryl Hannah gf
Gordon Liu is so fucking funny in this movie, I did NOT get Pai Mei when I watched this as a teen or young adult but now that I'm an established adult who's seen some kungfu movies he's fucking hilarious and based as hell
>>
>>216526992
Reservoir dogs is one of my all time favorites regardless of how ripped off it is, but kill bill made me literally cringe in the cinema. I brought a fucking gf to see it and the first time that goofy sound effect played we both turned and stared at each other. on rewatches it didn't feel as bad, but ill never get over how embarrassed we were when the action started. It was like the moment you realized you were too old for a party
>>
>>216527046
Its his most original, which is hilarious. I cant call his best film RD when it's 3 films he ripped off combined. I loved city on fire by tarantutino I guess

>Its his most original
it's basically just boss nigger
>>
>>216527194
and it was his most original movie
>>
>>216527199
once upon a time in hollywood is better and more original than django
>>
>>216527250
>once upon a time in hollywood
>original
if he left the murders as they happened, it wouldn't be original in any way. it was a massive homage to old movies he liked with tate barely holding it together. I'll always love that little leprechaun for the bruce lee scene tho. I posted a dented gta 4 car door on r/asianmasculinity with no text, and they banned me in about 20 minutes kek

>>216524725
>I didn't really understand what "tone" Tarantino was going for with this.
Tarantino wanted the movie to be split into parts which would all be different genres, so it's like a samurai movie when she's going up against Lucy Liu, then a kung fu movie when she's training with her master, and a redneck movie for the first part of Vol 2. It's just a bunch of homages to movies/shows he enjoys.
>>
>>216524725
that zoomer fag had the exact same reaction as me in 03. literally the exact same reaction. almost brought a tear to my eye. thanks tino
>>
>>216527160
Way too long, and honestly didn't add much. I prefer the original animation. Guess it's cool to know what happened to him, but the elevator scene was way too much.
>>
>>216527190
How is something "reddit" in your eyes?
>>
>>216527490
reddit is caring what reddit means as an adjective
>>
>>216527612
That makes no sense in the context of the original comment
>>
There was a 3rd movie?
>>
>>216527771
Yeah, with Zendaya
