>There's paranormal shit happening in almost every episode >Final episode comes along>"Um actually it was just trauma and we lied to ourselves to cope."What the FUCK kind of cop out ending was that???The first two season are some of the greatest television of the last decade and then it takes a nose dive in season 3.I can't believe I got cucked by damon lindleof.
it was written by damon lindelof. that's his entire career.
It is purposefully ambiguous but it only works in season 1
Don't worry about it
>>216525563What about the water in the lake dissapearing in season 2? What about Matt's wife getting pregnant and also her waking up from her coma? What about Kevin getting shot and living at the end? What about the hotel scene where he has to help patty's spirit pass on?
>>216525434i agree bro. i wanted more answers about kevin and the afterlife and the hotel and the great flood. i don’t care about norah’s trauma.
>>216525434tried watching this at one point but it was very boring so I stopped halfway through season 1, also very woke, before that was an extremely commonplace thing
>>216525636They focused way too much on Norah in season 3 and her character was unlikeable by that point. Plus she had already gotten over her trauma at the end of season 2.>>216525653It's not woke at all. What are you on about? The show aired on TV at a time before they started cramming politics down your throat.
>>216525434What exactly makes it "just trauma and we lied to ourselves to cope"? all of the supernatural shit still happened, especially people disappearing. the ending basically made it only ambiguous whether Nora actually went to the other side or if that's her and Kevin making up closure. It didn't negate everything that happened.
the moments (especially in S3) when you believe the dad's schizo shit is some of my favorite parts of the show
>>216525717Because Matt goes on this whole spiritual journey where he believed his faith in God is being tested only for him to complete give up and say fuck it in season 3 during the boat orgy scene.
>>216525843well that's not what you said at all originally. matt losing his faith seemed to be because he was let down time and time again of seeing a clear answer. the guy scamming and murdering people was his last straw because he absolutely humiliated himself
>>216525945I think it's easy for people who are faithless to easily forgive this scene. His entire journey really was like God speaking to him. They had to go and ruin it in the end.
>>216525434It sounds like you unironically got filtered and were expecting some ebin ending instead of one that one hundred percent focuses on the characters and the emotions they're feeling based on the people around them, the exact fucking same way both S1 and S2 ended.
>>216526041There was still paranormal shit that happened
>>216526026>let the mystery bethe entire point of the series, and faith in general. you can say "god works in mysterious ways" to anyone going through the worst trauma. Matt powered through that time and time again. I don't even know if he lost his faith entirely, but he sure as fuck gave up on the idea that he was there for Kevin as a resurrected Christ or that he was going to survive his illness. He knew he fucked up not being a good husband and father.
>>216526138He still carried with him what he learned from the journey and he didn't put right dismiss that God was speaking to him. He just stops trying to be a prophetic character and just becomes a normal dude by the end and it was so underwhelming. Plus Matt was like the best character on the show and they have him die off screen. So gay.
>>216525434>lindleof slopwhat else did you expect? It's literal nothing trying to pass as something, so the midwit tards could lecture you how "you didn't get it".
>>216526231i'll agree that Matt was my favorite character and they could have done a lot more with him at the end. probably the most depressing ending out of anyone, especially with him basically dying alone and Nora not even going to his funeral
>>216525714Stay sleep
