>literally humiliates all of Western filmWhy is western writing so bad? I understand that the japanese have higher IQ but you'd think that america would be able to make something good after all these years
>>216528572Perfect film. Men should be men, women should support them, men should be merciful (i.e. Ashitaka not killing Eboshi).
>>216528640But that's not what the movie is about.
>>216528659I suppose I didn't make it clear. Princess Mononoke contains shining examples of men and women in Ashitaka and San.
>>216528572>le epic niggercoded girlboss is cool when japanfuck off back to the upvote site
>>216528693lmao just get a girlfriend loser
>>216528812You don't know anything about me. I insist that you do less assuming in your life.
>>216528805Yeah unironically. It literally predates modern western blue hair-style radical feminism. Miyazaki's feminism is kino
>>216528833A reminder that the Japanese forced a quarter million of their own women to serve the US army as sex slaves after WW2. The US didn't ask for it, they just offered it up. Their own women. I feel bad for Japanese women because Japanese men are cucks and don't have any opinions worth recognizing.
>>216528833got his ass, tranny
>>216528572You jusy know.
gooks are better at found footage too
>>216528572Mid asf. The ending sucked
>>216528572the japanese have never had an original thought across the entire culture. First they mimicked chinese and korean culture, then european and their media is no different. All they have that is different is their sadistic and perverted nature, so they throw in gore, infanticide and rape into everything. They literally take european stories, hollow out the substance and keep the barest premise and call it new, from Kurosawa to Kojima and Miyazaki.
>>216528572Oh long johnson! Amirite brothers?
>>216528572ching chong ping pong
>>216528572Go back to /a/
>>216528572This movie sucks and Miyazaki is a faggot but I like the way that nature is depicted in this
>>216528873>Feminism: Japan> :O
>>216528640>>216528572The film is a lukewarm stance on environment and social justice. It does everything right by reflecting the world we live in, it shows the inevitability of the human will, but it's dissatisfying because it's exactly that, a powerless reflection of the world we live in.Ashitaka is right in preventing the destruction of his village by going out of his way to see the cause of natural disaster. Eboshi is right in wanting to create a just country. What it's not right is that they take the war to nature out of the need of resource extraction. Ashitaka pretends everything is over and would help Eboshi make her country but he doesn't realize this just means war and resource fighting will just continue and more shit will come to fuck his village. The Emperor's country still suffers no loss and it's probably big enough that it sees Eboshi's expansion as a nuisance at worst or an economic opportunity at best. Once Eboshi dies and someone like the hunter replaces her, all the struggle for social justice goes to shit, nature is dead and places other than their capitals are vulnerable, and the societies inside the capitals become nothing but more kingdoms of shit. The movie does nothing. It says "This is us right now". Well we know what we are, that's not what should be said. It fails to show the finity of wills they are fighting over. It fails to point in a direction that feels hopeful.
>>216532232All we can do is fight for our own victories. You don't know that by now? >It fails to point in a direction that feels hopeful. That is hopeful. That you can achieve YOUR own victory. Your own time of earned peace. Down the road? Someone will suffer. Someone always suffers. Again, how do you not understand that by now?
>>216528572if you have to pick a movie from the last millenium you dont really have a point and what Im getting is that japan hasnt made anything that even comes close to this in 3 decades
>>216532344>We can fight for our own victories>someone always suffersIt's wishful thinking to believe you will never be the one to suffer. Delusion to think the hopeless fight is peace or happiness. Everyone has a tolerance for suffering, but the ambition of some overreaches into the tolerance of others. Should we be happy for the Mikado who raped all the women in Eboshi's fort? Or should the Mikado be content with being a gooning incel so no more women get raped? This narrative of constant struggle and rightful gamble is nonsense. At the end of the day it leads to you being a servant and suffer one way or another. Will you lick your wounds and say you were the one who made others suffer when the day comes?
>>216533006>It's wishful thinking to believe you will never be the one to suffer.I didn't say anything about never suffering. >Delusion to think the hopeless fight is peace or happinessDid you fuck up this sentence or is English your second language? The fight isn't hopeless, that's why fighting exists. Because you might win. >Everyone has a tolerance for suffering, but the ambition of some overreaches into the tolerance of othersYes. You don't know that by now? >Should we be happy for the Mikado who raped all the women in Eboshi's fort?People who suffer the worst serve as inspiration for the rest of us to do better and / or help others.>This narrative of constant struggle and rightful gamble is nonsenseIt's not nonsense. It's what everything is. Goddamn dude are you 20 or something?
>>216528572>worse director since Jordan PeeleIf you want attention, just discuss this to /a/.
