should we as a society shift to high frame rate movies? weve been watching movies at 24 frames for well over a century now, but they dont have to nor should they ONLY be like that
>>216531115>get rid of the motion blur which makes it easier to watchEverything is way too detailed nowadays, older video games are more aesthetic than the new ones because there’s just tons of unnecessary details and everything is too sharp.
>>216531115Why don't we just bio engineer cameras to have human eye frame rates?
>>216531115They tried with The Hobbit, no one liked it.
With how tech is "advancing", there will soon be a device that clips to eyes that forces people to blink at the correct digital frame rate. Soooon.

>>216531115Everyone thought it made The Hobbit look like cheap behind the scenes video shit and the changes were jarring in Avatar 2 so no obviously not
>>216531115High framerate footage should be shot with a 360 degree shutter so that it still has motion blur. You don't want to get rid of it. Motion blur is realistic and natural. Reduced motion blur is why most people think high framerates look weird and uncinematic.
>>216531872The funny thing about avatar 2 is the HFR scenes looked absolutely awful downgraded to 24 fps.
High frame films will become the default at some point. Everyone under say 30 is or has grown up with high frame rate video games. While watching endless hours of 1080p/60 content on youtube and twitch. So they are just use to that high FPS look. It's just going to take a few hit films at a higher frame rates and everyone will fallow. Being you get use to it very fast. TV tech is also way better at smooth vision stuff..
>>216533020video games aren't movies. no one actually watches streamers, its just noise while they do something else, or just an annoyance at the bottom of the screen while they watch people play video games they can't run. read: 99% of eceleb viewers are third worlders.furthermore, hollywood has been dead almost 20 years. the younger generations didn't grow up with movies, they don't care. they grew up with phones. changing framerates won't suddenly cause youth demographics to suddenly drop their phones and watch movies.
