I genuinely don't understand how a guy can be so out of touch with reality. It boggles the mind
>>216532461The fact that Seagal could get Tyson to agree to this tells you more about this man's magnitude than any of the detractors are capable of admitting.

I still cannot believe that he uses body doubles, not just for action scenes or stunts, but for walking up stairs, jogging, or running. He spent real money hiring a dude to WALK

>>216531919Bootleg 80s/70s movies were their first exposure to Western cinema in the 80s and 90s, and they were wildly popular because of their novelty. The first to reach that market were, off the top of my head, Steven Seagal, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pierre Richard and Gerard Depardieu, and they continue to be popular among the older generation.
Thank you OP-san. A fitting tribute to the greatest martial artist, actor and director who has ever lived. Steven
>>216532808And here you are, still walking up stairs like a pleb because you’re too poor to outsource that tedious cumbersome bullshit.

>>216532988So, I legit trained under a japanese sensei who did this kind of stuff. I never participated myself, it was for the "advanced classes". And everyone will immediately leap to say "fake". And of course I'm not disagreeing, but I've thought about it a lot and, building on what I've come to understand about people, mass delusions, and hysteria/hypnosis over the past 10 years of political and pandemic insanity, I think there's a bit more going on than that. When people say "fake", they usually mean "fully aware of what they're doing and willing to job and get themselves thrown intentionally to make sensei look good". I'm not so sure. I've learned people are remarkably controllable and manipulable animals and I think it's entirely possible these people BELIEVE they're being defeated by a master.Obviously, the big problem is this would NOT work on anyone who was not already a student. That's the big obvious reality check in "bullshido". But the question of, "are they intentionally trying to trick people" seems more nuanced to me.Regarding the sensei I studied under (just for fun, I was never any kind of true disciple of "the martial arts"), I truly believe he was a good and kind man. He had a daughter who had serious inoperable brain cancer and the whole family was in despair for a time. After nothing worked, he eventually turned to studying "reiki healing". Miraculously, she recovered (and I met her, she's cute, I didn't realize she was his daughter at first and I was disappointed to learn she was married, lol). Of course there could be any number of sound scientific medical reasons for her remission, but the point is I believe he was a true believer and that, somehow or other, this rubbed off on his students. There was never any grift with him; dues for his classes were always on the honor system, pay when you could. If you couldn't pay at all, that was fine too. Had a lot of fun in that class, did some japanese-style picnics too. Good times.

>>216533121>Miraculously, she recoveredThe placebo effect can be remarkable. I read a book called Witness to Witchcraft written by an American dentist who traveled the Amazon and Africa in the 50s. He noticed that witch doctors who were highly trusted (and sometimes feared) could put on a show of ''sucking'' out the disease and ''spitting'' it out as dirt, worms and insects (cleverly hidden in the shaman's robes), and the sick person would immediately feel like they were right as rain even if they sported open sores or had had serious food poisoning just moments before.
