Let's hear some stories about how actors or directors were fired from projects.
I'll start with Melora Hardin.

She was originally cast as Jennifer in Back to the Future however when Stoltz was fired and replaced with Michael J. Fox it led to Zemeckis and crew finding now 5'4 Fox looking too short in comparison to 5'6 Hardin.

Or given him a box to stand on. She's really not in the movie all that much so not like it would be an extended issue. It's possible she just didn't have the chemistry with Fox they wanted so they opted for a full fresh start with their casting.

they weren't just standing around talking, the film had tons of full frame shots
