Walter Hill, the director, is indirectly massively influential in the videogames industry. There'd be no Street Fighter II without Hard Times, and there'd be no Double Dragon without The Warriors. Or, at least, those two games would be vastly different. Hill unknowingly spawned the two most popular genres in the arcade scene in the 80s and 90s: fighting games and beat'em ups.

Forgot to mention, there'd be no Final Fight without Streets of Fire, another Walter Hill film.
