I don't know if the inspiration comes from the same place, but it reminds me of the story of Frank Miller writing Daredevil after he was mugged in New York.

I feel like Rorschard comes from a similar experience. The feeling of rage and helplessness in front of injustice. The creation of a corrective, but highly destructive force as an answer. Maybe Moore tries to distance himself from the pleasure that overwhelming destruction generates.

He explores more of that in V of Vendetta. It's the paradox of rightful change. Evil only understand one language.
