yeah I'm with you. I honestly think it's simply a movie about marriage like Scenes from a Marriage or something.

I feel its "mental illness" angle is misguided and almost insulting, honestly - but I really doubt it was the director's intention.

anyway, I'm not a big Casavettes fan but if I had to pick a favourite movie from him it would be this one, or Shadows
