>>216677302>>Generalization Statute: You are nominating and voting for the entire history of that character posted, not just one particular iteration.I know this is already into round 3, but this rule copied from /co/ probably should be disregarded in future if this runs again, as it's very specific to how comic and cartoon characters are handled, with decades of runs by many creators and various incarnations, necessitating an umbrella covering all variations.In film and TV, even in adaptations of the same work, they tend to be very different in practice and quite separate. So I think characters from different adaptations or remakes can be considered separate characters. Just look at say, The Mummy 1932 and 1999, they both feature a mummy named Imhotep, with a few motivation similarities, but they're definitely not the same character, to be grouped under "the mummy". I also think the "characters 18 or over" should be "characters played by actors 18 or over" instead because there's so many instances of teenage characters played by adults going back a century, it's practically the entire high school genre of film.
