Zosia is assigned to Carol to accomplish that. Carol & Koumba don't understand that is what the arrangement is.
Zosia is worldwide selected because she is the best shot to make Carol join. Plurb doesn't want to jeopardize that by letting Kouma derail it, so on the fly introduces a rule that prevents Koumba messing it up, the objective being that Zosia is preserved as the prime plurb interlocutor for Carol.
Manousos's mother is supposed to have said "My mother is a badass" not "bitch". But yes, it cannot entirely mimic because every plurb character has the same sunny side up disposition, suggesting that it accentuates positive thoughts and memories its gathered.

The Plurb love bombs Carol and then neglects her to force dependence. It kills her wife and feels like it's about to fuck Carol. I have to ask, whose fantasy is this? Who is this made for?

Its not vulnerable to rage. Plurb told her that die-offs can happen to guilt and control behavior. This references Carol being guilted and controlled over her homosexuality. Genuinely, what the fuck is the show doing?

Most shows have a clear goal presented by like episode 3 max (which is why something like Severance was boring until episode 7).
The overarching goal is curing the world, yes, but there's no clear plan for that, no milestones to punctuate the episodes.
We don't know how it's done, there isn't an antagonist in the traditional sense, there's no strong conflict going on... basically what I'm getting at is that there's no short term goal.
And we know there isn't gonna be little green men visiting, because we know from Vince that it's a drama show about pleasing a miserable person, and far less a sci-fi show.
We aren't even seeing what the other survivors are up to, when we could've had some of them get character development and change their mind about the hive.

Everything about the hive could've been presented by episode 2 (if Carol wasn't intentionally written as retarded and avoiding the hive).
The show is stretching things for no reason, so what ought to be a short term milestone for the season is being delayed and stretched over multiple seasons.

plurb conditioned Carol, (isolation, phone message propaganda, requiring her to request help to turn on the gas station lights, her not just enjoying the plurb satisfying her needs for gatorade but expecting better service).
Carol doesn't just need the plurb now, she wants it personified in Zosia. she stares at kitsch boudoir art to literally say 'I want the plurb so much I want to lick its holes'

The destruction of the virus is going to be, at maximum, a 2-3 episode problem when it finally does come up in earnest. I actually expect it's going to be something more like "and then Carol connects to the hivemind and through the power of love and other anime powers she is able to will things back to normal" in some brutally anti-climactic ending. There isn't going to be some journey or 6 episode arc where she is slowly unraveling the logistics of the plurbing, it's going to be an asspull "and now it's dead" ending. Given that this is the case, there's nothing for the show to even do, because once Carol comes in conflict with the hive for real, we're already in the endgame of the show. Vince is going to drag this "drama" slop out for another 10 episodes, strap in and enjoy the nothing.
