saw bugonia, once i saw that it was an adaptation of a korean film i could see the ending coming from a hundred miles away
it was good. i've enjoyed lanthimos' stuff before and this was a bit different, visually, from his usual stuff but still a good turn-off-brain movie
a solid 3.5/5 enjoyable but not quite mandatory watch status

You can have characters that aren't good people. But you're supposed to like the fact they're in the film. I can't name a film where I hated all the characters but the film is great.

Just finished. December to Dismember double feature at Alamo Drafthouse. Pair of holiday themed horror flicks and pic was movie 1. Really a stretch calling this a Christmas movie though technically true. Struck me this time how much like a Universal monster movie it was. Definitely not good, but there was some nuts stunt work. The two part chase where the first half is a taxi cab running on its rims and second is a person handcuffed to the car steering it from outside was really impressive.
Second was Black Xmas 2006 and boy does that movie suck. Barely makes sense and the only good thing is the cast. Struck me as funny that the killer in this has a liver condition that turns his skin yellow and a liver disease was what killed Michelle Trachtenberg. God's such a goofy gus.

Watched Toolbox murders (2004) it was better than expected, for a fucking slasher movie. I think I've seen the movie like 15 years ago. I also rewatched the original from 1978 - pretty cool movie, first watched it was I was a kid, you might not believe it but I could rent movies from a local video store, they didnt give a fuck, like I rented TCM when I was 13. Hoopers movie is better though, even his mid rank movies have something interesting in it, like The Mangler. I just played RE 7 for the first time to, a fucking masterpiece. The createos must been inspired by TCM right? I love the decadent southern shit thats going on.

Reading the Ring books. It's weird that they got such a successful horror franchise out of a sci-fi medical thriller about a rapist investigating a case of magic smallpox.

Rubbers Lover. It's a sequel to that 964 Pinocchio film but there always seems like an easier watch than black and white Japanese schizo porn.
Also Body Melt because I eat dinner watching movies and that melt snot face screenshot puts me off.

>Two young women hitch a ride from a woman and endure humiliating perversions and excruciating pain as they are forced to perform sexual acts on strangers and each other.
it seems like one of those 2000s films intentionally trying to make it's audience not like it
>>
What people here think of labels like arrow videos of 88 films, whenever I see movies discussed here its been released by one of these modern labels - have they been important to revitelize the horror movies? I like some of these though like third window movies, but its kinda lame the Collector bs has started, with limited edition crsp of movies I downloaded with torrents like 20 years ago, us ut for reddit fags?

Hardly a horror but I watched Dracula: A Love Tale. It's like Disney movie version of Dracula, and I don't even mean that in a bad way.

that's a good description if you discount the giga slut vampire chained in the basement. isn't terrible though, has flashes of beauty.
goes on too long at the end with boring fighting scenes though. impressive amount of extras throughout the film though.

Dead Snow was actually pretty good. I thought it was gonna be a le nazi horror comedy but it was more like a Wrong Turn film.
