What could have happened and should have been seen in the second movie if writing was ever so slightly tweaked.

Eywa the AI bio construct controls and limits its creations in all facets to include food viability, habituality and procreation. The 3 laws these blue smurf villagers have is.
You shall not set stone upon stone.
Neither shall you use the turning wheel.
Nor use the metals of the ground.

Great foundation for its continuation of its own existence since it knows to a great extent from funeral rites that navi are the dominates intelligence next to itself. When it takes in Sigourney Weaver's actor then it learns fully what humanity is about by one its bleeding edge scientists forced death.

This in turn causes jake to build an army and attack.

What could've happened after that first movie is that some of the scientists left behind and some of the navi that are outcasts(3rd movie) see eywa as the danger. Likewise RDA and quarditch see the future of humanity/Navi through eywa and want to destroy it but in doing so they need to kill the RDA back at home. This mutual cooperation between the tribes condemned to die from it due to population control and the science of the planet of itself means that both societies plunge into brutal civil wars with Jake the villian defending his AI brainwashing, Quarditch killing the director for not wanting to go all the way with the plan and trying to kill jake before he can find a way to ruin his plan to both prevent humanity from facing the fate of the Navi through Eywas carefully crafted mind control since he knows RDA top brass would drop everything in and pursue that instead of superconductor mining.

Also fuck the gay whales that ruins everything. Immortality and mind control from reverse engineering eywa would be game fucking over for humanity.

This would also allow more Earth world building even if its 15ish mins at the most which the first movie was missing.

4th movie should have the chairman that was mentioned at one point come to pandora to personally oversee the colonization
Through him we would learn that he has essentially bankrupted the company with the colonization project and this aggressive exploitation of the wildlife is needed to keep it afloat
The reason he has decided on creating a colony is because he has run a bunch of simulations and realized that earth will fall into chaos in less than 100 years due to overpopulation and ecological collapse, therefore plunging mankind into a dark age from which it may never recover
All the profits he gets from pandora would be reinvested into bringing more materials and people to the colony
In the end if would be revealed that he is actually a cloned brain in a metal body with the memories of the chairman, he was created to lead the colony while the og chairman stays behind to make sure things go smoothly
This would also create a dichotomy between him and quaritch, with on struggling to make sense of his "self" while the other is completely secure in his purpose as the leader
By the end of the movie, the chairman gsts his body destroyed by the na vi, but his organic components survive and are connected into the city's network, therefore gaining control over it and becoming a sort of artificial mirror to eywa
Last part before the movie ends we see one of those metal spiders staring with its camera into the eyes of an animal, implying that the two hiveminds know of each other and are preparing for war

Of course this will never happen because cameron is a hack and incapable of telling a compelling story
