If the themes and subjectmatter are relatable and the visuals are interesting who cares? It's a movie, not a novel. Movie plots at their best are terrible compared to even middling novels. If your movie has nothing else, having a weak plot can be the last nail in the coffin, but if the movie stands on its emotional core and visuals the plot basically doesn't matter. As you can see clear as day with these movies.

Wrong. A movie makes 120 million opening weekend and gets a decent second weekend drop in 50% range, that’s still 60 million second weekend which is great. A movie makes 90 million and let’s say gets a great drop in the 40% range, that’s only 45-50 million. Avatar going to have to get even lower drop if
