>bro, check out these movies like Supergirl, The Odyssey, Dune Part Three, Spider-Man Brand New Day, Disclosure Day, Narnia and Avengers Doomsday! 2026 is gonna be epic!
There is only one film that I am hyped and will be the surprise hit of 2026 and best film of the year and none of you mention it!

IT'S MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!
>>
>dude remember the 80s??? remember the 80s bro??? the 80s?????
cringe gen x slop. 90s were better.
>>
>>216834200
Even though I'm a child of the 80s, the name He-Man always sounded cringe to me
>>
Hollywood has been doing 80s nostalgia shit since 1995, is this shit ever going to stop????? 30 fucking years!!!!!!!
>>
>>216834288
Charles Atlas is to blame
>>
>>216834462
Never, 80s was peak human society (if you were american), not the 90s
>>
>>216834901
All the best toys came out in the 80s. The 90s were more about video games.
>>
OH MY FREAKING LANTA I LOVE NOSTALGIA
>>
>>216834200
This movie has better production design than the Odyssey
>>
>>216835070
proofs?
>>
>>216835199
I saw the trailer in october for a questionnaire, surprised they still didn't release it, though the cgi wasn't finished when they showed it to me on a tablet.
>>
it's only available on that one day?
>>
Imagine trusting Hollywood to handle this right after that Kevin Smith cartoon that came out.

The CGI cartoon that came out at the same time as Kevin Smith's piece of shit was really good though. Probably the best iteration of the franchise since the mini-comics.
>>
>>216834200

Hollywood is not in the business of making movies anymore anon. Masters of the universe will be better than those you mentioned but only because the bar has been set laughably low. After all, it´s still a nostalgia bait flick that hopes to reignite and milk an IP.
>>
I know it will be more faithful, but will it be more enjoyable than this?
>>
I'd rather see a return for Flash Gordan honestly
>>
>>216834200
I wish I was excited about this but I know it won’t be any good
>>
>>216835717
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I love this movie. Frank Langella as Skeletor is one of the GREATEST villainous portrayals in all of cinema.
>>
>>216835762
Hey if this does well you might just get it.
It's time for the wave of capeshit (and nobody even try to claim that MOTU is capeshit) to end and science fiction sword and sorcery to rise again. MOTU, Flash Gordon, Highlander, John Carter, hell I'd love to see a remake or sequel to Krull!
>>
>>216834200
Jared Leto as Skeletor means it's bound to be kino
>>
>>216835936
>I love this movie. Frank Langella as Skeletor is one of the GREATEST villainous portrayals in all of cinema.
Nah I'm right there with you. I enjoy the movie more every time I watch it, and Langella is a big part of the reason. It's a shame Cannon was pissing the budget away on trying to get Spider-Man off the ground.
I don't hate the isekai plot line, I find Gwildor less annoying than Orko, and I'm a big Dolph Lundgren fan so even if his accent was still awkward it's obvious he is at least trying and he has enough screen presence to carry his scenes. Langella steals the spotlight though, and even though he chews the scenery like mad, his version of Skeletor is still fairly intimidating.

Test screenings have been positive and Leto has actually been mentioned as a highlight.
>>
>>216835990
Oh, shit, he's playing Skeletor?

I dunno... I have a feeling it could work...
>>
The fact that cast a turbotwink and they haven't shown a single shot of He-Man suggests that this is going to be terrible.

Not that the franchise even deserves anyone involved taking it seriously, it exists to sell toys to 4 year olds.
>>
>>216835990
Skeletor?
Or is he Keldor
I can’t imagine Leto in a role not showing his face
>>
>>216836079
That’s been done well before, the 2002 cartoon was great
>>
>>216835717
me in the middle
>>
>>216836079
Also, barbie is the same and people liked that
>>
>>216834462
While the 80s Filmation cartoon is the best known version, there have been multiple Masters of the Universe series over the years. The early 00s reboot that ran on Cartoon Network was pretty good. IMO MotU has the best world and lore out of all the popular 80s era shows, with maybe Thundercats a close second.
>>
>>216835717
The first ten minutes of that is enjoyable and Monica was hot

Leto is playing Skeletor. His face is replaced with CGI.
Reports from test screenings are that he is "Channelling Tim Curry" with his performance being halfway between Frank N. Furter and Darkness from Legend.
>>

>>216835555
I really liked season 2 of the Kevin Smith version. I was hoping for a season 3 since they were setting up Hordak and She-Ra. In case you guys never kept watching season 1, H-Man is obviously brought back from the dead lol. I think that whole controversy was overblown.
>>
>>216836322
No it wasn’t
The story was made to spite the fanbase, you’d know this if you knew Kevin Smith
He made Teela the main character and extremely unlikeable
>>
>>216836313
> His face is replaced with CGI.
I’ll believe it when I see it, I bet it’ll be like pirates where you get occasional flashes of a skull
>>
>>216836455
That was for all of two episodes and then He-Man was back. It’s why I always take 4chan whining with a grain of salt.
>>
>>216836455
incel mind rot
>>
>>216836515
Big man defending his big boy cartoons. Good for you. You show those chuds.
>>
>>216836536
Eyeroll
>>
>>216836515
Yeah but you actually watched it and the other anon just decided to complain through osmosis
>>
>>216836515
It was a short series anon
The second season had sweeping changes due to fan backlash
>>
>>216836496
Nah, I think it's gonna be skull for the whole film. Leto may be a egotist, but he's never shied away from disappearing into a role before. He was almost unrecognisable as Joker (regardless of how how that turned out). For all his shortcomings in the real world, Leto is actually a good actor.
>>
This will be a literal "DEI sidekicks roam modern world solving racism in search for adam, human leto skeletor confront them, we see he-man for 30 sec at the end"
>>
>>216836524
And don’t you fucking forget it cunt
>>
>>216836580
There’s so much lying and truth stretching on this board in order to create false narratives. Why anyone would take something some fag on 4chan claims to be true at face value is beyond me.
>>
>>216836585
As is Nick Cage
Take from that what you will
>>
>>216836609
To fit in, have something to be mad about and tie into their racial/ethnic/gender psychosis
>>
>>216836580
No you cunt, I watched it
Take your shitty agenda and shove it up your ass and let me talk to the other anon
>>
>>216836656
You watched it so hard that you completely remember it incorrectly lol
>>
I’m a defender of Thor: The Dark World because it’s the closest thing we’ve had to a modern live action MotU movie. It just gets dragged down by Natalie Portman still needing to be in it.
>>
>>216836674
Then you didn’t watch it
I assume you’re some sort of hipster
>>
>>216836618
Well yeah, Nic Cage is amazing when he has the right project. So often he gets a director who either doesn't want Cage to perform in his Nouveau Shamanic style, so he becomes stilted and awkward, or the director wants insane, over-the-top Nic Cage which comes across as silly, but then you look at him in Face/Off or Adaptation and it's brilliant.
>>
>>216836727
I know you're some sort of faggot
>>
>>216836774
And?
>>
>>216836161
it had a high quantity of lore, much more than i'd remembered. i was browsing through the encyclopedia a few years ago there's a lot there
>>
>>216836313
the og movie skeletor was better than the show skeletor at least for a movie. if leto delivers what you've described it'll still be magnitudes more menacing that that fegela filmation skeletor that prancing ninny
>>
>>216836161
There’s not many tech/fantasy stories
It’s similar to 40k in some ways
>>
>>216834462
Yeah, when everybody from the 80s generation retires from hollywood
