I always wonder what that Gonk droid did to deserve punishment and what its fate is. Having your feet burned with hot irons is such an extreme punishment. Being trapped in this hellhole must be terrifying and traumatic. No way out. No escape. Really frightening.

This one freaked me out too. I think it is really taboo/unnerving for a child to imagine this happening to their parents

My dad let me watch plenty of violent shit. Watched Terminator and First Blood when I was about 5 or 6. Saw Robocop when I was 7 when it was first released on VHS, and fucking loved it.
This was the only scene from anything that ever actually disturbed me. What the fuck was he thinking letting me watch this?
>>
>>216837545
I watched heaps of violent things too but for some reason it was always conceptually fucked up things in kids movies that disturbed me rather than gore scenes

For some reason Private Pyle blowing his brains out in the shitter haunted me for years and I couldn't remember what movie it was until I started hunting down movies by acclaimed directors and I found it again.
Yeah, the gore was fine. The ED-209 scene at the start of Robocop was one of my favorite scenes in anything as a kid.
But this scene in Robocop 2 stuck with me. The fact that they let you imagine it rather than see it was what probably amplified it.

My dad showed me this when I was 10, he said it was the most accurate depiction of marine boot camp in film. He did cover my eyes right when Pyle blows his brains out, though.

> The ED-209 scene
I really like that one as well, although it also disturbed me (in a good way) and I saw it as an adult. I think it's really perfect at establishing a feeling of dread.
I don't remember that scene from Robocop 2 but implied shit is always more effective somehow.

For me it's the scene in Big Trouble in Little China where they're in a room that gets flooded and they swim into some chained corpses. Made me queasy about swimming pools for a while

I can think of a few that scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Probably too young to see the movies when I did.

• Poltergeist - when all the rotten corpses start getting dredged up to the surface just before the house self destructs, the maggoty steak, and when the guy's face melts off in the bathroom
• Ghostbusters - the rotting corpse cab driver
• Ghostbusters 2 - the slime in the bathtub reaches out for Oscar and Dana

Those were real corpses btw so understandable. The entire franchise has been cursed because of that scene. I learned that very recently.

That scene from eight legged freaks where a guy trapped in a cocoon wiggles and screams helplessly as a spider ingests him with acid and sucks his liquidized innards out.
Family friendly comedy my ass.

Horror and violent action movies are almost never scary, with rare exceptions. It's always the weird shit from non-horror movies.
