>>216838204Can't you outscore it? I remember reading somewhere that you could.
There are alternate paths to victory. But I guess children's fantasy books are too nuanced for you.
150 points is too much. Maybe 30 points, which is a more realistic score disparity.
>he used the proxy site for his dogshit thread now im gonna get ya
>>216838204I think It was meant to be a reference of the "Golden Goal" from football (soccer).
>>216838222You could in the PS2 game.
>>216838222Of course. The snitch ends the game but if you're getting your ass kicked you can catch the snitch and still lose. This happens in the book and it's done to end a long game that the snitch catching team knows they'll never win anyway. Similar to football where you just run every play so the clock keeps running and you can go home because you're losing by 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter
>>216838222The gold thing was worth like 150 points so your team would half to score like 15+ times over the opposite team to out score it
What if you shoved a snitch in your asshole ...wow
>>216838263Finna win my fantasy football league for the first time and get $300 dollarydoos
>>216838204>snizz>snitch>you lick snizz snitch!
>>216838222Theoretically yes but practically no. If the players don't know what the score is and the Seekers are both actively trying to catch the Snitch at all times then the team that catches the Snitch could lose. But they'd have to be behind by so many goals for that to happen it never would. And if the players are made aware of the score then optimal play for a Seeker whose team is behind by too much is to prevent the other team catching the Snitch instead of trying to catch it himself
There was one game where Harry caught the snitch but they still lost because the game ended and the other team had >150 points on them.
>>216838222You can if your team is absolutely trouncing the other team and the game lasts hours. But realistically that will rarely happen. Grabbing the snitch is like instantly getting 10 goals for your team in soccer.
>>216838233>Rowling>nuancedSweet baby Jesus, what a thought
>>216838375And it's an absolutely terrible plot point which shows that Rowling has no understanding of sports or international competition whatsoever. Krum loses his national team the World Cup, purely because he feels like they can't catch up (despite there being no timer in quidditch). The Bulgarian wizard community would have lynched him for that shit.
>>216838539Unless you're a massive retard and decide to finish the game on a loss for no reason. That'd never actually happen though.
>>216840036nice necro paki
>>216838204Harry tests positive for Liquid Luck and gets suspended for the entire season
Friendly reminder that Rowlings actual explanation is that it's stupid on purpose because she hates men.
>>216838222Yes but the snitch is worth 150 or 250 pts while a regular goal is like 5 to 15 so you need to score 20x to outweigh it

Catching the snitch does not mean your team wins the game, it means the game ends and the team whose seeker caught it is awarded 150 points. Catching the snitch is the only way to end the game, there is no time limit. All this means is that if your team is behind by ≥150 points then your sole job as the seeker is to /prevent/ the other team's seeker catching the Golden Snitch until your teammates reduce the point gap to <150. At that point your duties now shift from purely defensive to offensive as you want to catch the snitch to end the game and have your team win.Note that since games start at 0-0, both seekers start with as aggressors, trying to catch the snitch. However this can change if their opponent's team pulls ahead by >150 points. It's not hard to understand if you're not a moron. There's no 'bad design', there's no loophole, trans women aren't women, it's just that the role of the seeker is dependent on the overall Quidditch score and the seekers must pay attention to the score and adapt their play as the score dictates.
>>216840530Okay, what's stopping a team from completely focusing on catching the snitch instead of actually "playing" the game, then?
>>216840142What a spiteful cunt lmao
>>216840549The same thing that prevents football (soccer) teams playing 11 goalkeepers who can all pick up the ball with their hands.
>>216840390So because of some jew and some paki jannie we're not allowed to have a simple discussion on HP here? I don't even care that much for the franchise even though I liked it as a kid, but I don't want to see that photo with the mouthbreathing subhuman spammed everywhere. Put it this way, if a jeet spams HP on /tv/ it's better for me than an Hitler's top Aryan SuperSoldier 1488 spamming a streetshitter 9000 times, ya diguse your free time better
>>216840142It's obvious why Quidditch is designed this way, it's to make it easy for Harry to singlehandedly win the match even when his team is dogshit and losing horribly.
>>216840610I don't know the rules of soccer so you're gonna have to explain why they can't do what I asked.
>>216838204Explain to me why Quidditch points are counted by tens. Why not make a score worth 1 point, the the snitch is 15 instead of 150?
>>216840624The rules in soccer allow one goalkeeper per team. The goalkeeper is explicitly allowed to touch the football with their hands, no other player is allowed to do this. To prevent players doing certain things, rules are written into the laws of the game and the players agree to abide by these rules.
>>216840618You can do whatever you wantIt's just we now know these threads aren't actually authentic/tv/ posters. Maybe you can cry about it on the farms?
>>216840694Why are you telling me about soccer when I asked for the rules for quidditch?
>>216840706Only the seeker may seek golden the snitch in Quidditch. This is one of the rules the Quidditch players agree to. If you're still having difficulty understanding just let me know but hopefully that has cleared it up.
>>216840530The problem is that Quidditch is otherwise presented as largely just football (soccer to you yanks) on flying brooms, so the addition of the snitch is confusing and pointless, and transparently just a way of giving Harry a starring role without thinking too hard about his contribution to a match. He just has to catch the fairy thing while the actual game happens around him.
>>216840767>Only the seeker may seek golden the snitch in Quidditch. This is one of the rules the Quidditch players agree to.What does "seek" mean? Going towards the snitch? Trying to look at the snitch? Telling the seeker how to get the snitch?>If you're still having difficulty understanding just let me know but hopefully that has cleared it up.You didn't tell me any rules about the fucking game until now, faggot.
>>216840767Is a team disqualified is someone other than the seeker catches the snitch? What if the snitch flies into them (which is a thing that happens) and they catch it by accident?
>>216841065The snitch isn't confusing, I explained it and the tactics around it in my previous post. As deduced from reading the rules of Quidditch as they appear in Harry Potter. If they were confusing for you I'm sorry to hear that but it's not a problem of the game itself.>>216841091It's not for me to tell you the meaning of specific words in the English language. If you're having difficulty with certain words feel free to look up their definitions online and we can resume then. Similarly, if you've chosen to put forth strong opinions against Quidditch without knowing the rules (your admission), that's something for you to sort out yourself I'm afraid. I appreciate you're becoming upset but there's no need for name calling.
>>216841196No. To return to the soccer analogy, outfield players are not sent off if the ball touches their hands by accident. Accidents happen. However, deliberately putting yourself in a position to engineer such a thing IS a foul and is liable to get you sent off. Unsportsmanlike conduct is easily separated from genuine accidents that occur naturally, as with all sports.
>>216838204I think Irish beat the Bulgarians even though Viktor Krum catch the snitch.
>>216841253>The snitch isn't confusingIt's confusing in the sense that people wonder why it even exists. Quidditch is just football with an auto win condition on top, because Rowling did not want to actually write a team sport match of any kind.
