>Rambo First Blood was released in 1982, much of its portrayal of the realities of veterans still holds true to this day. the film illustrates how the system failed him, leading to a downward spiral of violence as a response to the rejection and neglect he faced from society.

Why is walking illegal?
>>
No one wants hobos in their towns.
>>
Still want a book adaption where rambo goes on a rampage killing people indiscriminately. rambo in the book has been turned away before from towns and therefore makes a stand out of frustration and pride. the sheriff wants a clean respectable town but also deep down recognises this as one of americas failures and therefore tries to get rid of it.

They tried adapting the ending where he an hero's but Stallone found it too black-pilling

American society is build on cars
In america even homeless have cars
In america if you don't have a car you're basically not considered human

That movie was cliche in 1982. Cops wouldn't bother someone on a country road unless they were annoying some rich person who didn't want some vagrant squatting on their land. The cliche was simple holdover anti-police sentiment from the sixties. Mayor Daily's thugs were not country cops. The movie didn't take place in some old-south holdover town and Rambo was not Black.

Just write that movie off as liberals who became disillusioned with the Reagan years. It probably was also a self-inflicted cliche for Stallone who has a son with autism and like everyone else, didn't really understand it.

It's also a Christmas movie btw

Susprised Rambo hasn't been remade with a black lead actor in Wokemerica. The story actually sets up perfectly for it.
>>
>>216838238
The character of Rambo amplifies a myth that most Vietnam veterans were broken by the war with severe psychological problems.
But studies of Vietnam veterans showed they were not any more traumatized than soldiers in other wars.
In fact most were proud of their service and came back and returned to a well adjusted life.
The movies pretty good but it gives an ignorant public a lot of false impressions of veterans.
>>
>its a bootlicjkers pretend Rambo is a bad guy thread

The cops assaulted him for no reason, he would have been justified in killing them.
>>
when i hung out with a bunch of marines i remember we'd always get hassled or attacked by either cops or gang members (not a great difference between the two) for the same reason. the reason was that if they could beat up/take down/arrest/kill a marine then they felt "badass" and they could tell their faggot little friends "i took down a marine with my bare hands" or something like that. it was a fucking nightmare. you couldnt go anywhere or do anything.
>>
>>216838238
whats funny about that scene is how nice the cop is compared to today. he's still an asshole, but hes not raging and screaming and cussing the whole time or manhandling him right off the bat.
>>
>>216838773
that is true. in that time the small town good ol' boy Andy Griffith Show kind of cop was still a thing instead of the modern power tripping asshole.
>>
Anyway, cops are usually looking for an excuse to escalate when they stop you. It's more productive to start by saying "Afternoon, officer. Something wrong?" than what blacks tend to do when confronted by a cop which is "I didn't do anything, mfer!"
>>
>>216838462
He doesnt an hero in the book you reddit faggot. The colonel blows his head off with a shotgun

>hobos are dangerous
>hobos with military training that have killed soldiers in foreign countries are more dangerous
The sheriff was rightfully protecting the citizens.

He kill nobody tho. One dead because of him but indirectly, that would be third degree manslaughter or something like that, if anything. And certainly FIRST BLOOD was on them
>>
>>216838573
I think it's more about feeling demonized by public opinion (aka, The Left) and being left alone by the government. I mean, it's literally spelled out in the final Rambo wailing. I suppose the particular nonsense of this war, the massacre of innocent civilians and that no matter how brainwashed you are, everything and everyone is telling you you are the baddie, well that should mess with the brain of the average Timmy Dipshit. Don't know about those studies, tho. What are the wars which with they draw comparison, with soviets in WW2?

This could be provoking if they think you did something obviously wrong

What's with USA's culture of soldier worship? You have not fought a defensive war in 200 years.
>>
>>216839443
Its way easier to worship them then actually support them
People give their thanks on the appointed days and think everything for them is fine as they walk by on parade, after that they can forget about them until the next one does a mass shooting or the next parade

The worst pig cops are not the LAPD or any of those big city departments that have the media and tons of public scrunity watching them, it's those small town hick cops in East Cousinfuck, Kentucky, the kind whose brother is the mayor.

>if only you knew how infested with AIDS things really were
We’re shifting back towards reality but we just went through a time period where military leaders were sexless gods that swallowed cum and used cocks to remove poop from their butts. If Hollywood had a drop of honesty left it would make a movie about how bizarre everything has been.

I love the stallone movie but kinda wished it was adapted in the 70s. It might have been sanitised anyway given that big stars of the time were attatched but theres a chance they would have went bleak. The book is partly about the war being let loose on american soil as Rambo is like a purposely forgotten memory reactivated. Rambo is more to be pitied than rooted for and the Sheriff is someone with his own demons that he has to confront. A bleak nihilistic survivalist drama was on the table with an explosive finale. The movie we got is still good but only just retains some of the edge of the concept.

The novel's set in Kentucky but for some reason they filmed it in Canada or some shit.

Depending on the time of year, it would look ok. Kentucky isn't the South anyway despite having been a slave state and they didn't secede in the Civil War. Kentucky is close to the classic hillbilly stereotype. Probably has tons of strange people living in the woods. Vietnam vets were starting to become a political issue long before Rambo, but the antiwar protesters didn't really want to share the limelight. After the war was the Star Wars phase for Hollywood. Mostly Spielberg or Lucas. Stallone was about the only one pushing working class politics at the time and I'd guess that was because everyone was sick of the Jimmy Carter years.

>>216840180
i see what you mean. it came out in 82 after Reagan was in office when the cultural climate had shifted to a more optimistic one and the movie would have made more sense in the bleak, nihilistic 70s. the second and third Rambo movies are 100% 80s "America, fuck yeah" messaging.

I don't blame them. A group of young marines is just asking for trouble.

Best way to get back at a pig cop is through legal means; they do after all have bosses they have to answer to. You are white, you're not LeShaun. Use white people methods to solve problems.

What would happen if First Blood entered Walking Tall's town?
