The problem with trying to adapt this particular story is that it’s a story that only a game could tell. It requires interaction from the player in order for its messages and themes to be conveyed.

You could tweak and change certain elements in order to fit it in the medium of the silver screen, but you’d alter a lot of the crucial plot points and you’d just get a story with a completely different message to what it was originally.
