I somehow watched the entire series while muttering "this show sucks" at various points throughout. People say it's "Girls" for Zoomers. Well, obviously nothing has changed in the last 15 years because it's exactly the same shit.

It's funny because the dynamic between the main girl and Hutcherson is very close to what happened to me irl. Except, in my scenario my ex was a literal architect who wanted a "big life" that didn't line up with my boring, stable lifestyle. She got a crush on a friend/co-worker who gave her a business loan, and it away she went. But in this fucking show the main girl is a...manager... for her friend... who has no talents... who is somehow an influencer? And that makes her 'better' than her nice guy teacher boyfriend with vaguely nerdy hobbies?

What is the actual moral of the show? I have no idea.

I will say, my entire opinion of the Talulah character changed when I learned it was Pam Adlon's daughter.
