Bongs are whipped and cucked repeatedly by their government, they must constantly be humiliated and forced to pay fines for things. It keeps them in their place and ensures they will except whatever new cuck laws are about to be passed
>>
The BBC actually admitted earlier this year that like 80% of people who are fined are women who let the inspectors into their homes
All you have to do is refuse entry, unless they have a police officer there, but even if that happens only like 10% of the time it results in a prosecution
Its a fucking joke

Why is the UK so authoritarian in everything they do?

When Sweden had a TV license fee the letters were never so strongly worded or threatening. And now it's just tax funded instead because license enforcement is a total waste of time and money.

The license is used to fund the public service tv/radio channels

It's not just TV anymore, it's ANY device that can stream. Doesn't matter if you don't use it for streaming.

>>
>>216903903
It's weird because it's specifically for "watching or recording live TV."
>>

Normally middle class types will pay it but the poors have gotten advanced at ignoring the tele tax people. keep in mind, you can just have a firestick with no bbc iplayer and there's literally nothing they can do. tv tax gets memed for obvious reasons, but it really is avoidable these days. old people couldn't just rip out their antenna and pretend they didnt watch tv. zooms literally dont

They don't have to show up at your door in person as long as they get even one piece of evidence that you are watching live tv or radio without one.

One way they used to do this was to go around in TV licence vans, people used to joke that these vans weren't real because there was no way they could track a signal to your house from them, so it was all just intimidation or a shakedown, right?

WRONG!

The vans used a lower tech way of getting evidence that actually worked. They were equipped with verypowerful parabolic microphones. They simply directed the microphone to the unlicensed property and listened. If they could hear the sounds of a TV or radio from your home, then they could log it and that was the evidence needed for them to issue a fine. Non-payment of the fine meant jail.

These days it is usually an unmarked car or van and inconspicuous as the microphone technology has progressed so much its small, hand held and doesn't need to look like a radar or satellite dish on the roof. They a recording of the sound of the show you're watching with a timestamp and if it matches the sound of anyshow officially broadcast at that time within the duration of that show then there's the evidence you were watching live TV. To make that easier, in the UK timecodes are broadcast in ultrasound every minute like pips, that the human ear can't hear, so they don't even have to scour databases unless that fails.

However, because they don't have the budget to go around every flag festooned council estate every hour of the day a lot of people get lucky and don't get caught for years, which lulls them into a false sense of security, like yourself.

Now they'll be using AI to identify clusters and hotspots of people who don't have licences so it will be like shooting fish in a barrel, same goes for recognising serial non-payers of licences like OP. They can and will be changing methodologies of when and where checks happen, so more likely you'll be caught now.
>>
>>216898794
I can't wait to tell my grandkids about a mystical place called England that required a license for everything, voted in their own extinction, and venerated a family of inbred Welshman.

>>216906411
It's state run TV like in Russia. Like everything the state does it's paid for by the tax payer. They just pretend its a license fee instead of a tax because that protects the whole racket from tax cuts.
>>
>>216906330
good morning sir

Friendly reminder that no agency in the world has the resources to go after literally every little fish out there, but they most certainly want you to believe you do. That's because the cost/benefit ratio on scare tactics and propaganda is a fraction of actual enforcement and almost as effective. The concept is called security theater and relies on you being more likely to abstain from doing something if you're convinced you'll get caught.

If that van is actually a real thing and works as propagandized, you can still just say your neighbor is an asshole that blasts his tv on max volume.
>>
>>216898794
Love it when I get these letters as they always provide a good laugh.
Their latest tactic is claiming "an email linked to this address" is being used to watch iplayer. Of course they don't list the email, or even a hint of it, it's all part of the scare tactics.

>>216906330

This is pretty much how they detect you now, but the vans aren't the only way of doing it anymore. If they look at your internet history it can make it pretty easy to identify if someone has been or has claimed to watch live tv.

Things like the Olympics or the world cup are absolute honeypots. Texting a mate or posting online on facebook, reddit, 4 chan or anything about that great goal you saw the England just scoring, if your phone is triangulated to your home address, or its your home IP address, if they were watching you they have you bang to rights.

They can even use it as evidence you were wating live tv if they catch you pretending to watch Doctor Who by trolling in a thread while its live.

You'll see plenty of idiots online claiming detector vans, etc don't work or that they're just a lie to intimidate people, but that's 100% not the case, its just that they don't have a huge team of people going around to collect the evidence. They have to get evidence before they can fine, which is usually the hold up as YOU have to be caught using your TV live without a licence. They get enough people caught each year to make it worth doing, but its much better if people just buy licenses in the first place.

AI will mean they can catch more people more often though, which should mean more people will have to pay their licences.
>>
>>216906330
So what you're saying is I can record a scream, and claim it's my neighbour murdering someone?
>>
>>216906601
We have had people try that line on us before, but its quite funny when they do as they have no idea that the microphones are so good now they actually can work out the exact location of the sound source. When we first started using it the whole kit was classified and in a black box from GCHQ.

The British state developed a policy of abhorrent cruelty during the various movements for Irish independence.
That policy is now a permanent fixture in how they handle all domestic uprisings. It was Thatcher's guiding light when she decided to brutalize her own working class with the police.

The British people are very lovely and it saddens me that they have to deal with an Elite government that fucking despises them.
>>
>>216906760
Like the Royal Mail, there are a few quazi government organisations that can enforce the law privately without going through crown courts or the CPS. Thats one of the reasons why the convictions of subpostmasters for embezzlement, when in some cases it was genuinely the badly programmed IT system at fault, got somewhat out of hand. The burden of proof is much lower in these cases. Any evidence of watching live tv without a licence at home and you're usually bang to rights.

The only thing you can legally watch without a license is non-BBC on-demand stuff. So even watching Sky News live on YouTube requires a TV license. I think the reasoning behind the non-BBC stuff is that you’re using their broadcast infrastructure to watch live stuff so you have to pay towards it.

I can't even own a TV or any device capable of receiving the BBC, even if I don't watch it. I'd have to turn my garden into a concrete patch before they stop harassing me. And even then they won't stop pouring water on it. Because the BBC spills its broadcast everywhere. Nobody forces them to hand their content out to everyone, you shouldn't be harassed even if you do consume it.
They could put it behind an encryption, but they don't. And it's on purpose.

The guy in the video is not being visited by a TV licensing person, they’re being visited by high court enforcement. Which means they already got caught by the TV licensing person, the guy in the video is there just to collect the fine. The exact same thing would happen for an unpaid parking fine, speeding ticket, etc.
You have to be functionally retarded to ever get to this point over a TV license. No sympathy from me.

In your analogy, you are indeed using the water subscription that you didn’t ask for. You’re free not to. Saying “well I never requested it in the first place” is not a defence.

ANYTHING live requires a TV license. On-demand/streaming BBC stuff via BBC iPlayer requires a license.
Netflix/Amazon/other UK channels streaming service (as long as they’re not live) do not require a license.
Watching the Joshua/Paul fight live on Netflix would have required a license.

I hear the trick is to pretend to be a neighbour or passerby and call the police saying there are some fake official looking people trying to break in to houses. It wastes half an hour for them and they move on because they're out of time and have to do a high number of house visits each day.

Why don't people know about the super power that is not opening the door and pretending you're not home? I got the cops called on me once for something I actually may or may not have done did and they knocked on my door twice and waited for like 3 minutes then left and I never heard anything about it ever again kek
