Wtf is the message of this movie?
>>
It's turbo time
>>
If Phil Hartman got divorced he'da gotten way more pussy.
>>
I consoom, therefore I am
>>
>>216915893
Don't wiat to buy christmas presents until the last minute.
>>
Honestly it's a better Darth Vader origin story than the Phantom Menace. Completely understand how that kid grows up to be Darth Vader.
>>
>>216915893
A man should do anything for family
(specifically securing a Turboman action figure ahead of time for Christmas)
... A man should always preorder?
...... Is this film about consooming?
>>
>>216915893
I think its just a social observation / parody of the consumer hysterics that people go through to placate their loved ones with empty material goods
>>
>>216915893
>Hartman's character overperforms for all the women on the block because he's divorced
>Anakin's favorite TV Show is loved by all and the toy related to it is the Toy of the Year mania that especially happened in the 90s
>Wife constantly disappointed because Arnold never there always at work, in a way insincere ("you're my number one customer")
Ultimately the real message is don't put so much time into work that you forget your family and don't take their wants for granted because you don't realize what you have until it's no longer there. Don't rush yourself because you'll run into traffic and pay attention to your loved ones desires whether it's decorating the house for Christmas, going to a parade every year or knowing what toy your kid wants
>>
Honestly the only thing I didn't like about this movie was Arnold trying to steal the action figure and setting fire to the neighbors house. I know he was upset over being cucked and felt bad and tried to take it back but that scene felt really out of place and inappropriate in a children's christmas movie. Although him knocking out and then drinking beer with the reindeer was le epic reddit baconsauce....
>>
if you're white, everything works out in the end.
>>
>>216915893
Overwork is good but only if you also consoom.
>>
>>216916926
This, it's Arnold reflecting on his own marriage... except instead of disappointing his family by failing to obtain a doll, he impregnated his housemaid
>>
>>216915893
Do any dirty shit necessary to win the little trophy.
>>
>>216915893
I respect him as a bodybuilder but some of the movies he was in were very silly.

I don't know but was a fully functional turbo man suit necessary for a Christmas parade?
>>
Why did Arnie suddenly become a comedy actor in the 90s?
>>
>>216916979
The only reason he was in a mad dash on Christmas Eve was because he had been too focused on his work and neglected his family life. It's not so much that you should do anything for family but that you need to not neglect your family as if Arnold didn't neglect his family he wouldn't be in his situation.
It's about family, and that's what's so powerful about it.
>>
>>216917566
It was a different time.
>>
>>216917579
At that point we still had the expectation that the action stars of the past would get too old for action and so Arnie was probably diversifying for that day.
>>
The love of your family is more important than any toy and that deep down a good father will be truly be a kid's hero more than one who spends money on his kid as a substitute for quality time. It's why I think Marv is not really a villain at the end of the day, because he wants the toy to reconcile with his son too and knows that because he's already mostly burned his bridge further than Howard, and the toy is more the reconciliation because he's exhausted all the good will. Contrast Ted who had bought the toy far ahead of time yet neglected his son all because he was trying to have an affair.
>>
>>216917590
>it's really about a man's unfulfilled desire to satisfy his family's consoomer needs
Daring
>>
>>216917566
in every conceivable way yes
>>
>>216917059
This. It was a zeitgeist that younger people can't fully understand. Shoppers were being trampled TO DEATH. Not for food. Not for medicine. For Beanie Babies dolls. For Seinfeld on VHS. People died and left behind spouses and children. For a TV that would be restocked on Dec. 27th or 28th.
>>
>>216915893
It's a movie about how Jake Lloyd wasn't that bad and all (You)'s Star Wars fans should be ashamed of yourselves for how your kind treated him. Be better.
>>
>>216917804
Kid can't act for shit. I wonder how much circumcised cocks his mom had to blow to get him in blockbuster movies.
>>
>>216917579
he already conquered action movies so he moved onto another challenge.
>>
>>216915893
A good father will do anything to bring joy to his children.
>>
>>216915893
Consumerism is the true spirit of the holidays and bigger is always better
>>
>>216917286
But everything worked out for a nigger in the end, he got the toy and probably didn't even get charges after bombing a radio station and attempting to murder a child

Ted did nothing wrong. A movie ofcourse does all it can to present him as some sort of repulsive sex pest, but he was a good father who went above and beyond for his kid.
>b-b-ut he tried to ruin Ahnuld's family
Anhuld was totally banging the secretary, he deserved it
>>
>>216915893
PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN
NAO!
>>
>>216919442
>but he was a good father
His own son knew that was not the case and him shouting at both boys is meant to show how thin the facade of happy cool dad was. Ted was a lech and did not care beyond his son beyond what it could get the dad's reputation or sexual desires.
>>
I guess something about consumerism and the true values of Christmas being love and the family.
>>

How did Sinbad shoot his hand off?
>>
>>216917579
He was a well-liked actor and public figure. He had a positive image and was kid-friendly (remember his involvement withe US Dept of Health promoting exercise and fitness to kids?). Also we still found the fish out of water thing funny, and physically he lends himself to comedy just by being this massive Austrian. Put him next to a short guy, funny. Make this macho hulk be a kindergarten teacher, funny. Etc.
>>
>>216919830
The real question is how it only worked for him and not later macho types like Vin Diesel or The Rock. Ice Cube too but I admit Are We There yet was kinda funny.
>>
>>216919893
Vin Diesel can barely think and comes across more like a boulder that came to life. The Rock spread himself too thin imo and oversaturated himself. Ice Cube? He's cool, seems to have done well enough for himself. But even Stallone couldn't be Arnold. Stallone tried two comedies (Oscar and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!) and they both bombed and said nuts to that. Also, Arnold stopped doing comedies after like 4. Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Junior, Jingle All The Way. Maybe Last Action Hero and True Lies, but those were more with comedic elements. His few comedies just seem to have staying power.
>>
If you are lacking as a parent, buying your kid the right toy for Christmas is your LAST HOPE so do whatever it possibly takes to give us your money.
>>
>>216921621
Has anyone added up what it cost Howard to get the toy? The gas, towing, tickets and so on?
>>
>>216917579
He wanted to show his range.
>>
>>216915893
The message is that Minbesots used to be a wonderful state.but it was destroyed by leftists and millions of illiterate brown immigrants
>>
>>216917729
How true is this?
>>
>>216920087
>Stallone tried two comedies
3 actually
Judge Dredd
>>
>>216917566
I'll admit, it's fun watching him fly through downtown Mpls
>>
>>216919442
Ted was in Howard's house while Howard's wife was in the shower. And he was eating Howard's cookies.
>>
>>216922489
>>Stallone tried two comedies
>3 actually
>Judge Dredd

I knew you'd say that
>>
>>216915893
You are your kid's hero if you're there for them instead of trying to make up for your failings by buying a dumb toy.

Also don't neglect your wife.
>>
>>216919442
Ted could have been blowing his load in every woman on the block daily and instead specifically targeted the married woman who didn't want him. What a faggot.

Beat up other parents and claim their child's gift as your own.
>>
>>216915893
Be a screw up and a shithead and do whatever you want and you'll still win in the end and you can give your own child preferential treatment, at the expense of every other kid who are just as excited about their favorite toy, to make him love you again.
>>
It’s about how being a good dad isn’t buying your kid the best toys or being superdad like Phil Hartman, taking an interest in your son’s interests and life and bonding with them is all that matters
>>
>>216915893
jingle all the way
>>
Just saw it again after >20 years and it was kino. I didn’t remember Phil Hartman trying to steal the wife other than being a prick to Arnie
>>
>>216915893
>Bad Guy starts to win in final fight
>Arnie stands up
>Dusts off his jacket
>"It's time to Jingle"
>Puts on Sunglasses
>"All the Way"
Was confused by this scene
