Honestly the only thing I didn't like about this movie was Arnold trying to steal the action figure and setting fire to the neighbors house. I know he was upset over being cucked and felt bad and tried to take it back but that scene felt really out of place and inappropriate in a children's christmas movie. Although him knocking out and then drinking beer with the reindeer was le epic reddit baconsauce....

It's why I think Marv is not really a villain at the end of the day, because he wants the toy to reconcile with his son too and knows that because he's already mostly burned his bridge further than Howard, and the toy is more the reconciliation because he's exhausted all the good will. Contrast Ted who had bought the toy far ahead of time yet neglected his son all because he was trying to have an affair.

Or My Mom Will Shoot!) and they both bombed and said nuts to that. Also, Arnold stopped doing comedies after like 4. Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Junior, Jingle All The Way. Maybe Last Action Hero and True Lies, but those were more with comedic elements. His few comedies just seem to have staying power.
If you are lacking as a parent, buying your kid the right toy for Christmas is your LAST HOPE so do whatever it possibly takes to give us your money.
