This show is one of the best period dramas ever. It's mostly historically accurate and filled with sex scenes with hot women. Oh and it's not woke at all.

My personal crush is not one of Henry's wives, but Jane Boleyn (Joanne King), she comes off as a hot cougar in the fourth season and you see her tits.

for me, its mary tudor

Based choice, but she does not get nude in the show for historical accuracy.

There are a couple, but not really worth watching the show for if that's what you're into. It's mostly about Henry and his wives.

No, not really. Mostly diplomacy, the Reformation, and Henry fucking new queens. At the end there's a long siege (Boulogne, France) but other than that there's small engagements (Rebellion of Grace) and shots after a battle has happened off-screen (Scotland). The siege would be okay except it took up a tremendous amount of time, so the last two seasons are very jarring due to being rushed - Henry and Charles Brandon age like 30 years in the last season. It's very well worth watching though, the historical accuracy is crazy good in many cases, like Anne Boleyn giving Henry boar spears for Christmas or the exact words spoken by diplomats, Henry and his wives, church leaders, etc. They really did their research far better than most documentaries. The most interesting thing is the sympathetic tone it takes towards Henry and the Catholics, which for modern audiences is kinda weird. For example, queen Catherine Howard was undeniably a whore and traitor in real life, but the show also casts Anne Boleyn as undoubtedly guilty even for some of the more ridiculous charges she was convicted of (Incest with her brother).

That peasant girl, Bess, that he cucks in front of her husband was pretty hot too. Seemed kind of out of place but was hilarious, his men yell at the guy to dismount their horse and then immediately takes his wife to fuck while the guy just stares, shocked. Last time he'll go hunting in the king's forest I bet.

>it's a Thomas Cromwell episode

I am Jewish, I don't have a dog in this fight. It just seemed strange that a show in England (which remains protestant, aside from Muslim invaders), about the guy who brought the Reformation to England, would constantly make the Catholics look like the good guys.
>Bishop Fisher, Catherine of Aragon Bloody Mary, and Thomas More appear saintly and willing to die for the true faith, even Chapuys is portrayed kindly
>Luther is shown ranting like an unhinged man, the king's Church commissioners are shown as drunks destroying monasteries, Cromwell is corrupt and hates religion, Anne Boleyn's father calls Christ's apostles "liars and charletans" who don't exist, Henry is shown as breaking the church just because he wants to fuck his whores instead of his wife..the list goes on and on.

She was a witch and French too

The only evidence to her innocence shown was her last confession, when she says God knows she has never sinned against Henry in any other way other than being jealous of him. Unless I'm misremembering it, It does show her being intimate with her brother, and inappropriately behaving with a shirtless musician (Smeaton), and Brerton (who I think was invented for the show, and didn't exist).

none of this is anything new or exclusive to this show desu
Henry's Reformation has been portrayed as selfish and destructive for ages while Catholics are upheld as brave martyrs for standing up for their beliefs
Man for All Seasons did the same

Will watch it at some point, just for the hot girls in dresses

Watched it last year and realized GoT is basically The Tudors with dragons. And Sam Neill really steals the first season, the show peaks with him imo. Dude who plays Cromwell is one of my favorites as well.
>>
It's the best thing Henry Cavill has been in, and much more refreshing since he didn't try too hard like he does these days. Basically just playing himself but unlike every Jeff Goldblum film where he plays himself, it actually works.
