Hello? Tommy Carcetti here.
>>216928349>Do you feel in charge?
This is a great representation of real-world politician in a democracy. Someone who doesn't deliver on their promises and ends up being a disappointment.
>>216928586People who voted for Mamdani are going to experience this
>>216928604yep 100%
>>216928586and most importantly. failing up.
>>216928349>"I'm note old enough to vote. But sure! I'll meet you at the hotel bar. See you soon future Mayor."
>>216928586The Wire made it clear that politicians only deliver on promises to unified voting blocs who have actual power in a democracy. But that's a rarity in 2025. Now we have tradcon gays, feminist Muslims, white nationalist Mexicans, pro-LGBT and pro-abortion Christians, etc. Most people are atomized and don't feel part of a local community anymore. They vote as statistically meaningless individuals instead of influencing policy as part of a collective. So politicians don't have to worry about the ministers/suburbanites/dock workers/teachers/etc like in The Wire anymore.
I'm upward in the poll and you are downways
>>216928349Go to hell, TommyYour primary demographic are down there
>>216928604I suspect that unlike Carcetti's, whose tenure was impotent, underwhelming and completely self-serving leaving the state in the exact same situation it was in, Mamdani is going to leave the city in a much, much worse state.
>>216931017Disagree. He's gonna be better than Giuliani, watch.
Speak
>>216928349Get off the phone ya bum
