They do love eachother, but they also bring out eachother's worst habits. It's not about them not liking the same music, it's about them indulging in their vices together while resenting eachother for them. Ontop of that, they're lying to eachother about various things, including large life decision. Jonathan thought he could solve it by getting married, but that wouldn't fix their core issue of not being honest with eachother. What DOES fix their core issue is them finally being honest with eachother, which is the first step to creating an actual healthy relationship. Jonathan "not proposing" means that he's accepted the right thing is for them to not get married. It does not mean they've broken up. It means theyve solved the major issue in their relationship and are ready to move forward with it. Getting married would be more like a leap into the dark, not moving forward. After this scene, I was happy for them because they finally fixed their relationship. That's what this scene is.Then the writers came out and said, "no, this is a break up scene. Theyre broken up"The writers are fucking stupid
