>watch this movie
>it feels like 10% of the plot to an actual movie

is there way more stuff in the book or something

There are more books that weren’t adapted I believe

it was like ten percent of six books or something. most of which were the author being pissed about either being dumped, divorced, or overcharged at restaurants.

not really, and the first is as close as it gets to a story with stakes etc. i think one of the later ones suddenly gets all miserable, universe-ending stuff. characters don't change or anything, they just get separated and it doesn't matter.

really, the plot is just there to hang silly jokes off of. all those animated parts of the Guide voiced by Stephen Fry, although the general prose can be quite witty too.

listen to the original radio series.

It's meant for fans of the work(s). Try the BBC mini-series from the 80s.

I rather like the one where Fenchurch is introduced. Was that the same one that's a Dr Who episode with different paint on it? I can't recall
