In think this lost media shit is a colleteral effect of the first genewration of kids growing up with internet and smartphones, realizing not everything is archived and saved. Things are forgotten.
Now a days you can google anything and find whatever memory you have in a couple of seconds, but one thing or another gets forgotten and that's a shocking idea if you never been without memorycards and usd cards
