because his overall catalogue is the very definition of "hit-or-miss" and yet he's seen by a cult of turbonormies as some sort of savior of movies or some shit. he's like elon musk for hollywood, he has hordes of fanboys who will watch whatever slop he puts out and if it sucks this time they will just justify it however they can. i dont even hate the guy but he's consistently the most overrated director maybe ever.
