I remember watching this show in the late 90s. sometimes when it was on tv, it was never a favorite or something. but apparently it was very, very popular in its time.

watching it now makes me wonder why. it's terribly unfunny. what's the appeal?

The mom was hot, I fapped to her a lot

Yeah I remember watching Family Matters more than Home Improvement. Never really watched Full House either. Neither seemed that funny to me.
>>
I've never met anyone who was a fan of this show.

This show and Roseanne were the two most popular shows in America. It was a better time

It was a different time.

She was barely on the show and then got Baywatch.

my zoomer cousin is a superfan and tries to put it on every time we all visit my grandpa's house, it's actually mindboggling

I remember her scenes from the show more than anything else.

abc billed themselves as the family friendly network
at a time where even they were getting complaints about sabrina for promoting witchcraft there was no outrage over home improvement
kids could watch the show, safe if bland humor and a bit for everybody, was the first sitcom my parents let me watch
>>
So who else is enjoying the Jon Bois doc

I also watched roseanne back in the 90s, still have to rewatch it to see if it's funnier than home improvement. I remember liking it a lot more back in the day.

And i can see its appeal even now, compared to home improvement. it's about a white trash redneck family.

It was a more comfy time. Tim Allen and Jonathan Taylor Thomas had charisma that carried the otherwise average jokes. And like others said, the mom was hot.

they weren't rednecks or white trash, just blue collar

She was hot in the way Jamie Curtis was hot. Which means not at all. They just seem like the archetypal mother figure. If you think that's hot, you're a fucking freak.
>>
>>216936134
Yeah not rednecks or white trash exactly, but still lower class than "just" blue collar
>>

Not comparable at all unless you’re gay.

Jamie Curtis is a man. Jill from Home Improvement just has a mom-haircut that looks dated now. In season 1, 2 and 3 she’s hot.

This is one of the least funny sitcoms I've ever seen
>Tim overpowers a common home power tool and it goes awry
>AUUGGGHHHH
Garbage for people with no sense of humor

Did a lot of heavy lifting. Also the Wilsons face mystery gag that happened every episode too.
