My OLED TV looks better than a movie theater screen because it has HDR, much better contrast and perfect blacks. So why would I spend $15 to sit next to some fatso stuffing his face with popcorn the whole time?

Because you could sit there with a chick grinding on your dick.
It's always a social thing.

I have no idea. I saw Zootopia 2 in IMAX, and it looked worse than my buddy's home theatre.

Theaters died as soon as Trump was re-elected. It was the signal that basic decency in public was gone for good. But keep in mind that OLED will burn in eventually. My LG from 6 years ago I bought as a computer monitor has started developing a huge amount of dead pixels around the edges.

WOAH IT'S BLUER ON THE RIGHT!

*more accurate
Sorry you turned out retarded and poor.
>>
>>216938284
it's an sdr image and you're probably looking at it on an sdr screen, you fucking moron
>>
>>216938247
I'd never get one as a computer monitor. I only watch one or two kinos a day not CNN 12 hours a day in the background so I should easily be good for a decade.
>>216938284
>Why does this SDR image on this website that doesn't accept HDR images not accurately represent HDR on my SDR screen?

Stop making fun of me, asshole

I have a $3000+ setup at home but I still love going to the cinema from time to time if the movie is good.
No gf/roomate/brother/sister/mom/whoever barging in the room, no tasks/problems you suddenly remember you have to do, no phone notifications or calls, no temptation of looking up stuff you see in the film on the spot, no option of pausing the film 12 times, you just have to sit there and experience the film as a whole at once with absolutely zero distractions like it's intended to be experienced (I'm from yuroland so I never had a single bad cinema experience like I hear here often)

A bit of true escapism. Not to mention the huge ass screen and pristine sound and acoustic treatment of the room where you are literally not aware of the speaker placement making it feel as if you're plunged into the environment of the film itself.
if only more movies nowadays were better I'd go regularly.

The giant screen, louder speakers, and having other people in the theater watching along with you makes the experience of watching a movie feel more significant and exciting. Glad I could answer your question for you.

HDR just makes ice turn blue?
>>
>>216937954
Where the hell did you find a theater still using a film projector?

>Op realizes he was sitting next to a mirror the whole time
>>

You actually *like* having other people in the theater? Are you black or something? What could they possibly add to the movie except annoyance and distraction?
>>
>>216940350
kek, shut the fuck up antisocial incel
>>
>>216940418
Do you like laugh tracks too? And leaving the TV on in the background for comfort? Fucking weirdo.
>>
>>216937954
Dude same.
Except also add in Dolby Atmos system and room sound/light treatment with the room floor level at 28 dB average. Then calibrated the sound system to ~85 dB.
Then I lie back in my La-z Boy office chair and enjoy the color-calibrated 10-bit kino.
