OMG MANBEARPIG IS REAL! AL GORE WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG!

I'm glad Matt and Trey could repent their retarded ways.

It just isn't a very good manga. I will admit that the first few chapters, like, the first eight at least, do seem to suggest that there could be some interesting stuff going on behind the scenes, but then it goes nowhere. None of the characters have any personality, there are some really strange choices made in this manga, like having Ruri be the only half-dragon to ever exist, or the whole nine powers thing, resulting in any potentially interesting moments never being allowed to come to fruition, like, maybe Ruri could have met another half-dragon. Maybe she could have met a half-dragon who's older than her who could have taken her under his/her wing and taught her what he/she learned as they were coming into their own as a half-dragon, or maybe she could have eventually met a younger kid who was a half-dragon and help that kid learn about this unique identity the two of them share. These are just some ideas I think could have made this manga a little more interesting, and make the setting feel more lively. Instead, the characters have no dimensions to speak of, nobody acts like a human, they have little to no interest in any of this dragon stuff, the powers amounting to pretty much nothing, because every time Ruri gets a new power and freaks out about it, everyone always tells her that she doesn't need to worry, everything's cool. Because the new power problem is always resolved in the exact same way each time, that doesn't allow for any new or interesting interactions.
It just really has nothing going for it. The anime will probably get some attention, but I think it's going to be just like the manga where people will inevitably start dropping off and focusing on other, frankly better works. Ruri really is, at best, a fad series: popular for a while, but doomed to fade awa

My Dad is a meteorologist and he says there's no proof Manbearpig exists.
