>In 1987, John Saxon wrote a Nightmare on Elm Street prequel titled “How the Nightmare Began”. Set in the 1960s, the script follows Saxon’s character, Detective Donald Thompson, as he rescues his wayward teenage daughter Betsy from a hippie commune led by the mysterious Jimmy and puts her under the care of child psychiatrist Dr. Freddy Krueger, while he focuses on the investigation into a series of child killings in the area. Don’s second wife Marge dislikes Betsy and leaves with her and Don’s five-year-old daughter Nancy.>Krueger discovers that Betsy has psychopathic tendencies and incestuous feelings for her father. Betsy begins slipping LSD into Don’s food and water, causing him to have nightmarish hallucinations. She later accuses Krueger of attempting to molest her, causing parents to question Krueger’s association with their children. When the daughter of Don’s best friend, who was also a patient of Krueger’s, is murdered, Don begins to suspect Krueger is responsible. Betsy alerts Jimmy, who is the true killer.>Jimmy and his followers murder Betsy and frame Krueger. Distraught, Don arrests Krueger, but he is released due to lack of evidence. The parents of Springwood later abduct Krueger and attempt to force him to confess, but he refuses and instead disparages them for being bad parents, causing them to beat him to an inch of his life and set his house ablaze with him inside against Don’s wishes. >>216939414Unfortunately there is a phenomenon in horror where horror fans are the lowest of the low intelligence and will eat up any fucking slop you throw in their face so wasting any kind of skill in making a good movie in regards to horror is a waste and because of this, hollywood knows and they just shovel shit after shit in horror genre with only a handful of actually good movies in the 10s of 1000s of movies in the genre.With of course all the freddy movies pretty much being complete trash with I suppose dream warriors being a unique exception. Even that it is only good for the unique setting.
