However, that cannot mask lazy grab bag stories with ill fitting cliche after cliche that struggle to fill 12 or 14 episodes. Some may stand up for 6 episodes and fall apart, the ending a fizzle and no bang.

I am watching both Dynamite Kiss and a kdrama from 2012 Rooftop Prince. Dynamite Kiss isn't even trying to surprise the viewer, a very simple playbook and certainly has no problem filling much of an hour with flashbacks. I contrast that with Rooftop Prince and there is multiple plot arcs, support actors enhance the enjoyment instead of filler and the funny parts are actually funny. I overlooked that show for years but Netflix bought streaming rights for the older show and served it up.
