Does anyone else hate that thing in trailers where they make it look like two different characters in two different scenes are responding to each other
yeah, or make the movie look way better than it actually is. i hate that shit
>>216943187What?
>tv bumper where they splice lines from movies and shows that the channel airs to make it seem like they're talking about how cool the channel is
>>216943187yeah especially that thing where they cut the music for 2 seconds and chop a bit of a character laughing after a different character makes the worst joke ever in a completely different scene
>>216943187Trailers are awful, they almost all give way too much. It's just like I don't want to watch this movie, the scenes won't have any emotional impact because I saw it in the fucking trailer. A trailer should give premise and maybe cast NEVER plotCompare these two trailershttps://youtu.be/ZqU7iiHFCzwhttps://youtu.be/VkBLV8YhX1UThe first gives premise, it tells you it's about a guy doing a Neil Diamond show and Ella Anderson is in it, the second has dramatic scenes totally fucking ruining those scenes And to answer your question: NO, that is a fine technique if it works to build the premise. Like in this trailer they use "I could really use for you to tell me I'm doing the right thing" from the scene where he's signing her into a psych ward followed by "I think you are" from the scene where they're deciding to do the big final concert. It works to build an idea AND obfuscates the big dramatic scene the one line is from
