I really want to like his films, but they're so dialogue heavy. And for how famous he is for weirdness/surrealism, the dialogue is so mundane and natural it sounds like the kinds of conversations that I usually tune out in my daily life.
That being said I did like Eraserhead.

that's the image that some media and some pretentious retards created to try to explain why they're supposed to like his work without actually understanding it or even liking it themselves
watching a handful of interviews and just hearing him talk about his own work should dispel that
then just watch his stuff with an open mind and enjoy them for what they are. it's not that complicated
he's actually a very straightforward artist
and he makes beautiful art
