>absolutely terrible movie comes out
>decades later people who watched it when they were a child try to convince you it's good.
many such cases
>>
you can say the same about
>Home Alone
>Home Alone 2
>A Christmas Story
Non-Christmas movies:
>Beethoven
>Dennis the Menace
>Problem Child
>Dunston Checks In
many more cases

Home Alone is legit kino. John Wiliiams score. John Hughes script. Joe Pesci. You're just being contrarian.
>>

Most Christmas movies by design are pretty bad. Syrupy schlock for middle class America. Anyway, it's too late to be talking about Christmas movies

>it's too late to be talking about Christmas movies
/tv/ is an orthodox board
>>
for a kids and family christmas movie its not absolutely terrible at all its actually on the higher end, Hartman, Sinbad, and Arnold are all giving great performances and its directed well
>>
>>216948541
>Sinbad, and Arnold
i don't think people realize how disastrous this could've been. rewatched it recently and sinbad and arnold actually share less screen time than i remember
>>

nostalgia and rose tinted glasses
>>
>>216948111
Hating on this movie is just hating on yourself.
>>
>>216948111
this fag probably thinks a christmas story is a good movie
>>
>>216948111
This is a genuinely bad movie but it's somehow still on the edge of enjoyable.
>>
>>216948111
>hey my dad like's that guy's movies!
>i want to see this one!
>>
>>216948111
Just like the prequels.

I'm sure this movie was dogshit but I remember liking it
>>
>>216948111
I blame prequelfags for starting this trend. Now every fag wants to force shiity childhood movie as some kinda misunderstood masterpiece.
>>
>>216948111
You just don't appreciate the classics.
>>
>>216948111
It was kino even when it came out though
>>
>>216948180
I've never seen anyone shill those non-christmas movies.
>>
>>216948180
Muppets Christmas Carol is the worst offender.
>>
>>216948111
put my cookeez down now! or I'll break your rented reindeer in two! those are my scrumptious wifey cookeez!
>>

I actually agree. I'm almost 50 years old and never saw jingle all the way in my adolescence. Put it on last year for the kids and it's just fucking stupid like the Santa Clause and Elf

Problem Child 2 tho, that’s peak
>>
Arnold's accent is funny. That's all there is to it.
>>
The Phil Hartman cuckening plotline just made 90s boomers seethe because half of them were doing the same thing to each other and didn’t like being called out in a Christmas family movie
>>
>>216952145
Elf is good, dumbass.
>>
>little shit kid is only satisfied with not getting the toy when his dad goes to great lengths to dress up in full costume and save his life in front of thousands of people
great message

This is the absolute worst case of this
>>
>>216948111
saw it when it came out and my whole family loved it, including mom and dad, watched it every since
Critic reviews are meaningless, the film was a success and people liked it
>>

Trvke
>>
>>216952297
He also wouldn’t have cared about not getting the toy if his dad had come to the karate meet or actually spent time with him doing normal activities. Great comprehension skills.

Dubs of truth and honesty
>>
>>216948111
>slandering jingle all the way
Fuck you, that movie is great
>>
>>216952297
It is, actually. The kid was upset at the beginning that his father wasn't spending enough time with him. The toy represents Arnold's flawed perspective that material goods can serve as a substitute for his presence.
