Other than edward Scissorhands and maybe donnie darko and the invisible.
are there any movies that you could argue are kind of emo or emo adjacent?

Wristcutters: A Love Story

Sweeney Todd
>>
How are those emo?
>>
Heathers
Ghost World
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Batman

they're emo adjacent, edward is more goth, but the invisible and darko do have an emo kind of vibe to them.
>>
Sheedy in Breakfast Club, Pan's Labyrinth, Let the right one in
>>
Ive seen 1.5 of those So I'm guessing like adolescentish postured faggy dorkishness-- My Own Private Idaho, dark city, chumscrubber
I think emo has more overlap with hipsters than Goth.

yeah it does, most people that were emo or alternative emo leaning back in the late 2000s became hipsters in the 2010s.
watched it with my own eyes.

Maybe the only watchable Greg Araki movie, Mysterious askin

Kill emo's. Behead emo's. Roundhouse kick an emo into the concrete. Slam dunk a emo baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy emo's. Defecate in an emo's food. Launch emo's into the sun. Stir fry emo's in a wok. Toss emo's into active volcanoes. Urinate into a emo's gas tank. Judo throw emo's into a wood chipper. Twist emo's heads off. Report emo's to the IRS. Karate chop emo's in half. Curb stomp pregnant bitch emo's. Trap emo's in quicksand. Crush emo's in the trash compactor. Liquefy emo's in a vat of acid. Eat emo's. Dissect emo's. Exterminate emo's in the gas chamber. Stomp emo's skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate emo's in the oven. Lobotomize emo's. Mandatory abortions for emo's. Grind emo fetuses in the garbage disposal. Drown emo's in fried chicken grease. Vaporize emo's with a ray gun. Kick old emo's down the stairs. Feed emo's to alligators. Slice emo's with a katana.

is this the movie about the teenage male hooker?
>>
>>216951685
Yeah, it's pretty gay (emo)

Edward Scissorhands epitomized that esthetic, which really originated with British punks. It was its peak, and the emo movement that came after was its downfall.

I figured this because I've watched Portlandia before.

tell me know i know you're around 40 years old

;_; i'm only in my mid-30s

Emo is short for emotive hardcore. Donnie Darko takes place before the emo musical movement. Donnie Darko himself is not very emotive, he definitely leans more romantic and idealistic(goth)
>>216950605
Emo would be more like Sucker Punch with it's 'attitude.'
