I'm being forced to watch this by married women friends and from what I can tell, they don't care that there's basically no plot. It's just a string of "cute" interactions punctuated by gay sex scenes and that's what they want. I'm not current on Stranger Things (you could tell in season two that they'd blew a creative load they'd been building for years on the first season and nothing after that would be worth watching) but I imagine they are still attempting actual plots even if they're shit, so that's not giving the girls and gays what they want.
