What a depressing movie The Holdovers is. Does NOT belong in the Holiday rewatch rotation.
>>
really wasnt all that cozy and nothing happened in the ending to make the movie feel complete

Huh? I didn't think it wes depressing at all. It was a fun watch and pleasant in a lot of ways. Great movie, one of my favorites of that year.

The Giamatti character is a miserable guy with no charm and refuses to fix himself. The younger guy's dad is locked up in a mental institution. The black woman's got the standard fucked up poor black person background.

Didn't want the movie.

I wish every serious director felt that had to make a Christmas movie at some point in their career instead of a war movie.
