I personally think Alien Resurrection works because it takes risks and has personality. A lot of the criticism misses that it isn’t trying to be bleak or final like Alien3, it’s trying to be bold, weird, and alive, and that ambition is exactly what makes it stand out.The criticism that its humor and heightened tone “don’t belong” often overlooks the fact that the series has always evolved from horror to action to nihilistic tragedy and Resurrection simply pushes that evolution forward. Far from undermining the franchise, its dark comedy, unique direction, and more physically capable Ripley offer a fresh perspective that keeps the series from stagnating, making the film feel daring, self aware, and more replayable than the grim finality of Alien3 imo.

>>216953626The book versions of Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection are way better than the movies
>>216953626It mogs Aliens in every way.

>>216953626This is the one when the clone and the android have an existential moment of realization inside of a church on the space facility. Wow. That's brilliant. You just know that they became apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ when they crashed landed in post-apocalyptic Paris.

It's fine except for that one cro-magnon looking fucker. 3 is abysmal and unwatchable. Everything after Resurrection is so much worse complaining about it makes no sense.
