Everyone millenial in Russia has watched it, it was religiously broadcasted on most entertainment channels. Is it even known in the US?

The Barbarian Brothers were two goofy gym bros that had a very short lived low budget career. The only film I've seen by them is The Barbarians (1987) that is a pretty forgettable low budget sword and sorcery film, but they are the most memorable part of them. They seem to habe ad libbed a lot of lines, and always act like gym dorks the entire time rather than being actual barbarians.

I was surprised to find out they're not into UFC or wrestling at all, just bodybuilders

This movie is singlehandedly responsible for the modern AIDs epidemic in Russia

How? HIV probably came from chimp plasma used in merck's hepb Vax trial, which they recruited NYC gays in 70s for experiments.

That's exactly the point of my thread. No one in the US gives a shit about this movie while it's incedibly well-known in Russia.

I didn’t even know they did movies other than The Barbarians.

Sometimes American media that ends up being relatively obscure in America ends up finding a huge foothold in foreign countries you'd never expect.
I just recently found out that Marsupilami, despite being written off as a "failure" in the US, found a huge fan-following in Vietnam.

I'm pretty sure it's also very big in France, they even had a live-action adaptation of it
