Eddie is a beloved character and Master of puppets is a beloved song. It tickles every part of the nostalgia brain centers in a very effective way, which is a lot of why people watch this show.Will being gay does nothing. It serves no narrative purpose, it is politically motivated. It halts the narrative to a crawl for like 4 minutes for no reason in the last season when every second counts. And finally it is totally anachronistic, All the memes all over are about how poorly his friends should have reacted to the news, instead of the fake warm and fuzzy bs we got.
