>That episode of Recess where they talked about their future jobs and dying of fentanylWeird episode
>>216960223The only episode of Recess I remember is the one about the trading cards. All the playground was really into a set of trading cards that was popular and it became a form of currency. If you wanted anything, you had to pay in cards. Through hustling TJ acquires all the best cards and controls most of the wealth. He uses this power to essentially enslave the playground. The playground being unhappy with this decide to start trading in a different set of cards thus making TJ's wealth completely worthless. TJ shrugs it off, takes off his crown, puts back on his cap and gets back to work hustling.I love this episode, it's one of my favorite bits of TV of all time. Not only does it discuss the problems with fiat currency but it also shows the importance of a good work ethic.
I HATE JEWS SO FUCKING MUCH
>>216960365If you watch for the close up, that's some brown woman with a shitty dye job.
>>216960365Also in that scene, Mikey is making the woman wet with his bard-ism and the guy has to politely tell him to fuck off.
Hey, "TJ" here, or just "Theodor" nowadays. I saw Vince again the other day. He was back in town to see his parents and we went for a drink to talk about old times. It was nice seeing him again, although he's changed a lot. Vince went off to the west coast after high school, to a college doing a sports scholarship. Sounds like it's all going well and he's apparently loving this new group of sports people he hangs with. The others? Gus moved again, he always did say his dad wanted to. He left towards the end of year 6 and it was sad saying goodbye. He's somewhere in Europe now and besides the occasional e-mail, he's gone. Mikey and me got a lot closer during high school, but he met some new guys that liked poetry and stuff. I laughed about it at first, but he started spending more and more time with them and then, when it came to college, he said he couldn't stay here anymore. I know he meant that he couldn't stay with uneducated me anymore.Gretchen scored a place at a proper educational college some way away. She went just like Vince and barely keeps in touch. I know one day she'll invent a cure and help a lot of people, but I just hope she doesn't forget who gave her all those ideas to play with when she was still learning. Spinelli? She stuck around. Me and her dated a bit during high school, but she dumped me for a tough guy after a bit. She followed him when she went to college, even after saying she'd stick with me. That was the end of our 20 year friendship. She's messaged me a few times, but I only see her for a reunion once a year and she's never the same. The rest of the guys have left, although The Diggers still stayed around the town doing building work, but they're always busy. Guru Kid left and went the same was as The Ashleys, to another far off college. Although they went to a separate high school too, The Ashleys never seemed the same after they grew up and their hideout was removed.
Lawson and I made peace on our last day at 3rd Street. He went to another college, proclaiming we'd get together for another round of kickball, but it never happened. King Bob's successor was the last king of the playground. Old Rusty was ripped down for being 'unsafe', just before we all left. They also stopped the Kindergartners from dressing up. I think that was principal prickly's last action before he left. I heard he died from cardiac arrest a couple of years ago, but I didn't go to the funeral. It would've been too sad.Me? I'm still living with my folks because I never got the big place at a far off college. Instead, I'm at home, travelling to a local community college. I see Hustler Kid (or 'Dave') around sometimes when I get my lunch. Menlow and Randall are sometimes on my bus, and it's nice to know they're keeping in touch.I sometimes cycle to college or work and go past 3rd Street School and take a look at where all those memories took place. The place has changed a lot now and Kelso's is always empty after we stopped going. Not to mention the cul de sac and the lake where we used to catch newts in the summer. I think it's closed off now, so it's a shame no-one else will have the chance we did. It's sad seeing how everyone and everything has changed and moved on, and how I'm still here. Especially after my sister moved out. Sometimes, I lye in the grass between lectures and listen for the recess bell and it makes me feel happy. I miss the old gang.
