The only movie of 2025 I watched was 28 Years Later and it sucked.
This has been a pretty bad year for movies

8/10.

The Monkey was hilarious, I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed it.

>>216963710
also hilarious and unfairly ignored / hated on by bitter, old-good-new-bad, FAKE Wes Anderson fans. yes, it's no Rushmore, but it's still a really charming and well written movie.
>>
>>216964029
Twinless is the grossest movie released this year. You have mostly exceptionally poor taste. I do want to watch the monkey tho
>>
>>216964150
what's gross about it? are you referring to the plot or the gay sex scenes? I thought it was sweet and funny, although not as moving as the director's previous film.
>>
>>216964953
A few things. Gay sex scenes, particularly that one scene towards the end. It had a decent plot, and some of the non sex scenes were really well filmed, but James Sweeney's acting has the depth of some gay cardboard and I can't stand it.

I liked Running Man unironically. There's a good movie hidden in there, felt like the studio didn't let Wright do his thing but who knows. It was a 6/10.

Magnolia, the alien movie, was good too. 7/10, figured it was going to be slop but I was really surprised how much u enjoyed it.

Civil War was absolute dog shit. One Battle After Another was better, but still shit. I felt rage at the end of both of those films.
>>
>>216963315
M3GAN 2.0 is the only movie I went to see. I liked it. The rest looked uninteresting shit.

One Battle After Another was like an accidental satire the writer wants you to take seriously. The political commentary was embarrassing and it wasn’t half as clever as it wanted to be. I felt unclean after watching it
Bring her Back had some solid acting and memorable scenes. It could have gone farther but it was good. Not overly complex and gets mildly repetitive
Kpop Demon Hunters is goated for the music. It was cracked in the theater, people went crazy. For me? Free
I started Frankenstein but haven’t finished it. It reminds me of Sherlock Holmes
Ne Zha 2 was Chinese shonin. I liked it in the theater but I wouldn’t watch it again or at home
28 years later sets up many new plot devices and has some great scenes but it doesn’t do much with them and the movie isn’t particularly scary. It lacks the tension of both of its predecessors. It sets up a sequel I don’t find myself caring much about. It feels like part 1 of a 2 part epic. I would recommend waiting for the sequel to drop and then watching them together because it doesn’t hit as a standalone because the lowgrade tension and questions likely culminate somewhere in the next movie
I will probably watch Chainsaw Man but it doesn’t look nearly as good as the manga
